I ordered this from a seller on Etsy in the Ukraine. About 5 weeks from ordering to my specs, to my front door. Fresh out of the box and I’m pretty impressed. The wood is Ash and the head weighs in at close to 3 pounds. I almost don’t want to call it a tool..

Awesome! I think "piece of art" is a better name. I love that forged head look, but that polished edge....wow, just WOW!

Thanks for asking. Took a few outside where the lighting is better. The leather is thick and really done well.

That's really stunning. Can I ask: what's the purpose of the second leather piece? Not the blade guard but the piece that goes over the eye and around the collar. Is it a collar guard that stays on during use or does it have something to do with carrying the ax?

I think it has a belt loop on the back side. Unfasten the leather strap off the stud in front and pull the axe out.

Correct. Here’s a pic of the front of the blade guard too, love how thick it is.

Can you give me some info on the seller?
My nephew is adopted from the Ukraine and that might be a cool gift.

Sooo nice, he did a great job. I wonder which steel is used and is it comparable to most other axes?

    I'm digging that axe.

the handle looks like rifle stock quality pretty.

Interested in how it works for you when you decide to take it out and put it to work. Actually I'd love to see it on a video in action. The maker might like to have that to show to others if it showed it in a good light.
