I was wondering if anyone has experience with this backpack for actual backpacking. A little heavy compared to the ultra light offerings but heavy duty for more bushcraft related trips.

    Thanks

I see there are some great deals on Glacier packs on the internet. I have used Dana Design and Mystery Ranch packs for almost 3 decades and the build quality and loading hauling ability has always been good.

You might look on eBay and find on older Dana Design arcflex pack for even a better deal. The old Danas were made in Bozeman and were built to last a lifetime.

I just bought one from Sierra Trading, all I have done is load it up and go through Mystery Ranch's fitting process. Feels nice so far, I put 40 pounds in it and was comfortable walking around the house. Won't put it on the trail until May. I also ordered a Osprey Aether 70 AG and the mystery ranch feels a lot more comfortable under load.
