How are you feeling @mtnoutdoors? I’ve been in a similar but I would say not as extreme position. I’m seeing my ortho tomorrow and am headed back to work looks like Friday. Shoot me a PM if you’d like. Maybe I can share some expurences that could be of help to you. I hope your in some more comfort for the holidays.
I was told for many years “don’t let anyone cut on your back’. They were wrong. If I hadn’t, I would be in a wheelchair now. If you haven’t had one, you need an MRI to see exactly what is going on. That was the tipping point for me. I was lucky and found an excellent surgeon too.
Prayer continues Mike.
Thanks for all the prays.
I have seen 4 different Docs and no one will even say they will try to fix what is going on. I was given a 5% that I will not walk out. But they did fix my neck. Prov 27:17
Unfortunately the process for an MRI to be covered requires a Dr. visit to refer to a specialist. Then you must actively go to physical therapy. Once you’ve done these steps they will cover an MRI. My “team” feels my issue is a herniated disc or two. And MRI can confirm this. Herniated disc will produce all the symptoms he is feeling. Often they won’t do surgery for this but there is a TON therapy wise he can do for relief. I’ve only been going for 2 weeks and am amazed at the difference.
I get a MRI every year. I and get one setup right now and then off to the spin Doc once more. Prov 27:17
Sending health and wellness energies your way. A very wise healer once told me that pain can be a messenger. I wonder what message it has for you? Would it be possible for you to honor the message so it didn't have to bug you for attention?
How would you know what message is being sent to you. I know what the Good Lord wants me to do and I am trying to do it. Prov 27:17
My doc recommended the MRI as soon as he heard the symptoms. No therapy required or needed actually. Covered by medicare. As soon as he saw the MRI, he recommended the doc that fixed my back. No guarantees at all, but there was a pretty good chance of not walking without the surgery.
I had/have arthritis, along with disk problems and something called Spondylolisthesis. The long word one is the trouble maker. It was threatening to pinch the spinal cord in two. I will try to find my scans tomorrow and get some pics to show you what they did.
Late in this, lots of smoke and prayers coming your way @mtnoutdoors.
We are all connected. Call it prayer or call it something else, it has power. You are in my thoughts and I want healing to find its way to you.
I have seen the painting of the woman praying before but I do not remember the one of the man. Do you know the titles of the paintings and who the artist is? Thank you and
GOD Bless you and your family
@mtn so glad to hear you are listening to the Lord and taking the steps that you are. Those of us living in the Grid or on the grid have so much access two good doctors and good therapy. Imagine the folks off grid somewhere in Alaska that can only fly in and out and ATV three or four miles just to do that?..pic is in Alaska...
@Kenneth I live in Minnesota the man in prayer with the beard is a painted print of an original black and white photo, goes by the name "Grace". Here in Minnesota you will see thousands of them at thrift stores and everywhere else because it is the state photo... the woman is "Gratitude"
Google Minnesota state photo to see all kinds of interesting history about it..
On other forums he is my avatar...
...the 7 "no mores"...

I would like to say thank you all for your prayers. As this path of pain with my back there is also a lot of mental health as well. A lot of ups and downs. I know I can't do it by may self. As I lean on the Lord and talk with my brothers an sister's of Bushcraft I know I can pull through.
Its hard to even talk and post this. But the Good Lord had told me to. I read his word talk to him and you all as well. There is a song that also has help throw this time I would like to share with you all. Thank you for your time and Prayers. Prov 27:17
God Bless ya.
Talking to a good doctor might be worth it. Perhaps a pinched nerve? I have seen that bring a grown man to his knees with tears in his eyes.
I"ve had back / lower leg hurts and aye,
Prayers heading your way.
Prayer continues Mike. Keep fighting my friend.
Thank you all. Prov 27:17
