A day with your grandson in the wild is ALWAYS a great day! Happy to hear you're putting that Nessmuk knife to use!

The grandkids and I made it to the spot for July’s pic. Getting pretty dry up there, but the creek is still roaring. Overcast day here and much cooler too. Good day for a short outing. We just went up and took a few pics, collected some rock samples and some willow cotton. The willows are blooming and have HUGE puffs of cotton on them. A ticking full would make a great bed!

I'd be THRILLED to go for a walk in that snow right now. It's noon and 97*f here in SLC today!

I'm inside with the AC going and fans oscillating just to remain cool. The snow even looks good on the screen!

I too could use some snow. We have a relatively cool day here today so we are going back out to go up to Soldier Creek Canyon where I camped last year. There may be more service berries to be had. We got a handful today up at the ‘spot’ and they are in scones about to come out of the oven. Those will be part of our lunch. :4:

Just got back from the second leg of the journey. It was great, less than 70 degrees out there! Wow. Nice rain showers in the canyon. We found flowers and animals and enjoyed the morning’s bounty in scones. We ate most of that batch and made a batch of round ones after we returned. Yum. The first ones (triangular cut) had service berries, and the second batch, the round ones, have currants in them.

I don't know how I missed this thread. But a whole lot of awesomeness and great times going on in it.

    Excellent pictures, Ken!~

Those scones look amazing!! I bet they were delicious, especially with the company you had. You've given me an idea for a walk this afternoon. :D
