Awesome! I look forward to it.

@werewolf won I'll lead a class on tarp shelters. Bring your own tarp and practice making different shelter designs.

Anyone want to do a swap blanket?
(Different from the usual trade blanket)

Bring a piece of gear you'd like to contribute, everyone puts their item in the middle, numbers are drawn and everyone takes what they fancy in numerical order?

No I’m still on the fence over what to make. I have an offer of a pot of beans from someone so far. I have often threatened to do hot dogs and hamburgers over the coals, rather than spend half the day cooking, this might be the meet :D

It's been mentioned a time or two in the past about the possibility of everyone cooking for themselves, there are several reasons why the thought interests me.
We see a lot of threads opened with questions about what types of food are good to bring, what kind of stoves to use, do I really need a skillet, are MRE's and other freeze dried camping meals worth the money and so on.
Preparing and cooking your own lunch might be a good learning experience by getting ideas from what others are preparing and what method they are using to cook with.

Something to think about and maybe discuss ?

A Good idea, but a few of folks like me are far away. It’s a one day meet. May not want to carry a stove, pot, fry pan , plates bowls and so on . It’s is a good idea @Moe M. maybe a discuss like you said . Will not hurt . A lot look for ward to the lunch .

I plan on making a bushcraft meatloaf and fire roasted Brussel sprouts for chow. Gonna us my FryBake pan to make the meatloaf and just roast the sprouts in heavy tin foil on the coals.

@Moe M. the idea I think is a good one, but a one day event , not sure ???? A talk on what to bring would be cool. I know You and @werewolf won and a few others have done most or all the cooking. Maybe a better potluck . Some thing to discuss . But simple beans, dogs, slaw would be easy. Less put it up for discussion?

In talks with Moe we have decided that we will make up a cookout to supplement what members are making. This way if anyone does not want to cook or meals turn out badly for any reason we will have a back up sure thing.

Less than a month out! I cut down a small crab apple tree and a small pin cherry tree this past fall. Is any one interested in a chunk of either for a project? If so I will bring some with me.

Oh, it's easy! Here are the steps.

    1. Get a piece of wood.
    2. Get a knife.
    3. Cut yourself. Cuss.
    4. Carve your rough shape, trying not to get blood on the wood.
    5. Get blood on the wood anyway. Cuss.
    6. Start shaping the handle.
    7. Accidentally break the handle off. Cuss.
    8. Go back to step 1.

I'll offer a crash course if nobody else does, minus steps #3, 5, 7 and 8.
With step #9: smooth all cuts and #10: wax and oil.

    Haha @wrath0r!

It's a spiritual cleansing ritual involving burning sage.
