I like that. Bit more of a finger groove that I've seen. Looks like it would easy to hold with slick or cold fingers.

I like Bark River Knives and like the blade shape and looks of the Kephart. While I really don’t need another Knife, I may have to check one out?

My BRK’s have all been in A2, which I see they don’t make the Kephart in. Maybe it’s time for me to Branch out? Lol

    Nice knife, thanks for sharing.

Nice knife! Kephart is one of my most used knife styles and I like Bark River Knives. I have a few Bark River Knives that I like more than others but overall no issue with Bark River Knives quality or durability other than I do not like the sheath designs. Found that the Knife forums tend to bring personalities and politics into the love or hate of a Bark River Knives.

No need to defend BR or the kephart style around here! That's one classy yet practical knife! Love it!

I'm not sure what the dislike of BR is. I have a couple of their blades and sheaths with no complaints.

I, too have one of those. Probably my favorite. Small, thin, light weight and just the right width. I got past the "super steel" characterization of 3V and simply regard it as an improved 1095. Really good knife. My everyday knife is generally a small fixed blade and, more often than not, it's that knife.

Bark River also makes a longer version I like just as well, but it IS longer and the small knife seems to attract no attention.

I still use a simple one I and my oldest son made up trying to match the origional kephart design.

Onle diviation is its 3/32 thick.

I don't much like thick knives for a general purpose knife. That's what my hatchet / axe / hawk is for or a saw.

I want my knife to be able to clean game, slice stuff and do some simple whittling.

THe one you have there sure looks like I could make it work.

Around here people tend to not judge if you have a modded old hickory knife, a mora, or a very expensive custom. They all do and I can admire all things.

More importantly if it makes you happy why would I Put it down.

    Walk your own walk.

That's freedom for ya; ain't it?

How does the handle thickness feel with it tapering towards the blade?

This is a complaint I have with some bark river knives. I understand why they do it because I've done it with some of the knives I've made before I learned to do it differently.
