Not same maker as their other 2 blades (Skrama and puukko) as they are made by Lauri, this is made by Fiskars (both Finland). No reason to think it is inferior. Looks nice!

I may be mistaken, but I believe that is the issue knife for Finnish forces.

They have had that knife offered for at least a couple of years. It is the Ranger knife used by Finnish Special Forces.

Touche. OTOH there's no actual proof @Youcantreadinthedark used it on that hearth board. Could've made a bowdrill set with an SAK then threw the big knife in there for glamour shots.:D

I just hadn't noticed this knife on their site or around here before, seems I always see the smaller puukos and Skramas.

This knife is not an offical issue for the Finnish Defence Forces. The FDF has not issued one official knife to conscripts or personnel since the 1950s and even then only in limited amounts. Naturally knives are used by the Finnish Defence Forces but pretty much the unit or garrison can buy whatever they feel necessary for the task in hand.

This.. they've had it for quite some time... it's a good knife. It was redesigned a number of years back..some people liked it the way that it was.

The handle looks more comfortable than the one on the 110/140. I have a 110 and I thought I’d like it more. My son likes it so that is why it’s still here, but I’ll likely never reach for it over others I have.

Now I have looked at the Sissipuukko a few times and while I haven’t bought one, came close a couple of times. I would mainly be interested in the longer version.
