Decided to do some blue carbon fiber pattern kydex sheaths for some of my blue handled Bark Rivers. Classic drop point hunter in 4v and blue burlap, Wilderness Explorer in denim micarta and a Survivor in Navy Burlap. Back of the sheaths is plain black kydex. I will try to work on the belt loops later this week.

That blue color looks really good!
Are you going to make leather belt loops or are you making them from Kydex?

Didnt get to play with the belt loops yet. I have some split rings and solid rings from paracord projects, so I may do a dangler setup with a strip going across the back of the sheath with the ring on it and then make up some leather loops with snaps or screws to attach to the ring as a dangler. With longer knives, I prefer them to dangle so they can move around when you sit and stuff.

Made a ugly, down and dirty dangler attachment today to try out. 3/16" thick leather strap, some kydex and a welded ring. I put some Obenaufs on the leather after I took the picture. I need to get some narrower and thinner leather and some snaps and setters, but I can try this one out at least. I need to make the holsters with a push off tab since it is harder to draw with the dangler vs fixed belt loops, but the survivor was comfortable on the belt around the house. dangler proto 1.jpg
