I used to be able to do this in Boy Scouts (ahem - 30+ years ago), but I can't seem to regain the hang of it.

I'm just looking to splice / weave eyes into 3 strand polypro rope for a tow line on my kayak. Anyone have a link to a book or a good tutorial on this? I've been just shooting the end back up onto the hollow of the rope, but I want to get back to doing it the elegant way.

    Thanks.

This is similar to the book, the best image I can find on line. The book is a must have.

The problem with above is # 5 ans #6 are missing. This is not from the book I am showing which is very clear.

    Sweet! Thanks.

I've asked my library to find me a copy of that book to have a look first (yep, I'm being cheap about it).

The link also looks like it'll help me get the job done. Now all I need is time to spend with a glass of wine and some rope scraps to practice.

Animated knots on youtube is what I used to relearn the eye splice.
