We may be tentative for this meet. I've spent the last two weekends sick, Mrs. Turtle is now sick, and not sure if the turtle collective will feel up to the trip to beautiful Chester...

I'll give him an axe to keep him occupied!

OK, I agree. That wasn't funny. There's nothing funny about giving a baby an axe. We all know that he's just not big enough for one yet.

I'll give him a hatchet to keep him occupied!

    That's much better.

Mojo applied, feeling better! Thinking we all might make this one!

Awesome, I need to finish the spoon I started for him...at least year's carving event!

Deal! :) BTW what time does this shindig start?

Like one of those kubbens? Great idea. Great parenting inspiration!

Last minute delay in our holiday travel plans... so I can join you fine folks now. Would love to learn some carving skills and meet some fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

Can’t wait to see you Bob!

That would be fantastic Matt! We are right on 513, though taking 513 all the way would probably not be the fastest.

Whoops! I would have totally missed if it hadn't been for wife of @Seeker !
I have endcap activities going on tomorrow, but I'm going to try to drive out even for a short while - I'll be less than useless, having been out of practice with anything outdoors since fall.... but a short visit and then maybe some girl time in town.

There's a chance that I might get a chance to swing out for awhile.

@Pastor Chris Would Stanely still be welcome or should he stay at home? I don't want to be "that guy" and assume.

Got my bag packed... a bit of carving stuff, and a bit of 'show and tell' stuff, mostly for @ChocolateSpatula? as a continuation of last weekend's trip. Mrs Seeker is excited to see @ChocolateSpatula?, @BlueSkyWoman, and @NJHeart2Heart again, and I'm looking forward to meeting some folks, first time for some, 2/3/4th time for others.

@alukban, is there anything i should bring that might be of interest? (actually, same for anyone... this of all trips, if i've ever posted something you wanted to see, is the time for me to easily bring it along.)

    Darnit!

Was all set to be social. But, the Mrs. decided to start voiding at both ends at around 0500. Looks like I'll be taking care of her today. Besides, I don't want to spread it to all of you nice people.

    Maybe next time. Have fun!

Thanks for hosting Chris, had a great time, learned something, made a 'utensil' the Mrs. will never allow in her kitchen... and needed no bandaids!

Nice meeting everyone too - hope to catch you all other regional events. :)

Pastor Chris, good to see you again, thanks for all the work that goes into hosting. My wife and I enjoyed meeting your wife as well. We had a great time.

@Wyanokie, @reppans, "Dave" (I think? edit: who turned out to be Grizzlebee) and "Henry" (whose usernames I forget) it was great making your acquaintance today.

Wyanokie, thanks for the jambalaya and conversation. We will talk more about the Pine Barrens.

reppans, thanks for the conversation and the chair plans. I have a good project now!

@designtom, good too see you again as well. My wife was quite taken with Charlie.

@BlueSkyWoman, @NJHeart2Heart, and @ChocolateSpatula? good to see you all again, and thank you all (plus Mrs Wyanokie) for making my wife welcome.

I'll post some pics once my wife gets them to me off her phone.

@Pastor Chris , thank you so much for hosting this! Always great to see you and Jake!

It was great to meet you too @Seeker and @NJHeart2Heart ! Yes Seeker we will talk more about the Pine Barrens for sure. Thank you for also for your instruction in knife sharpening, it is much appreciated.

Thank you @bobc for your patience and tutelage of the boys with your expertise of archery! I know that they will always remember it.

Best wishes to @AmericanBrotherOutdoor in your new endeavor of starting a business selling outdoor supplies. Hope too see you both again soon.

    @alukban , @hdlv, @BlueSkyWoman, @reppans , @Grizzlebee , @ChocolateSpatula? , @designtom , great meeting you all, and look forward to another gathering (hope I didn't miss anyone).

In retrospect we were so caught up in enjoying the activities that we didn't take many pics. My wife got a few good pics of the boys carving and working on archery:

    Had a lot of fun.

Thanks to @Pastor Chris for hosting, and providing the raw materials.

Took fewer pictures than usual while keeping track of Charlie the Chocolate Lab.

@bobc spreading the wealth. @ChocolateSpatula? seems to take well to creating things by hand.

I should have come to one of these gatherings sooner.

Anyone up for a weekend gathering in a Chester County PA Park? .......... Charlie asked me to post, since that campground allows dogs. https://www.chesco.org/1067/Camping.

Nearby to the Iron and Steel Heritage museum. https://www.steelmuseum.org/ Great tour there for people interested in the industry.

I'm in Delaware county. Chester is close. I'd be interested.

It was great to meet you all for the first time. Thanks a lot to Pastor Chris for hosting, and to everyone for being so welcoming and helpful. You all are awesome! I look forward to meeting up with you all again soon.

Looks like great time! Sorry I missed it. (The Mrs. is feeling better. It must have been what she ate the night nefore, because she was almost human by around 1 pm).

I am glad that I didn't bring Stanley to an inside function knowing that Charlie was there. He would have actually hurt Charlie's feeling by ignoring him. Stanley doesn't realize that he is a dog, therefore he doesn't acknowledge them.

What he MAY have gone like this:

    "That's mine". Squirt!

Squirt, squirt. "This. This is mine also".

" This, " dribble, squirt, dribble, "I don't really want this, but it's mine anyway".

I have never seen a neutered male mark territory before. Marking and soccer balls are his reason d'etre. I've never seen him do it indoors, but I wouldn't want to risk it if another dog was present. He'll just attend outdoor functions in the future.

Charlie spends a lot of time in the car sleeping, so please don't let his attendance dictate Stanley's.

Charlie also spent the first good bit of the meeting tied to my chair. He loves groups, people, and especially kids. It takes a while for "his ears to turn back on". I don't turn him loose until the ears are functioning again.
