I am always looking for the moisture like a lot of New Mexicans. Dude!! There isn't any and it is warm, I have say, "This drought is making me nervous because of the explosive fire seasons of recent times"!! My favorite play ground is the mountains and it sure isn't looking pretty!!

Yeah! Apparently there has been a high pressure ridge parked overhead almost since our outing in the Jemez.

Maybe we offended the mountain spirits with our complaining. I forgot that real New Mexicans NEVER complain about rain. :51:

I was born in NM, grew up in the mountains in the southern part of the state, down in the Cloudcroft/Mayhill area. My family was mostly cattle ranchers and it seem like we were always needing rain that rarely came.

I can identify with that, lol. I think we are in a la Nina condition at this point. Hopefully it will be a bust, especially this summer. As warm and dry as it is so far, I expect heavy snow and extreme cold spells in the northwest and northeast states this winter. So much of NM will probably get abundant, massive, wind storms on a regular basis. I could be wrong, and really hope I am as that seems to happen a lot. We need the snowpack in the mountains.

It has been daaaaaamn dry. I do remember we had a few rainy days a couple months ago. What was that, September? Usually the post monsoon months have at least a few rainy days, but this year is as dry as a bone.

We haven't had a good rain since June. We had a couple twenty or thirty minute rains throughout summer just enough to keep things green, but barely. We need rain badly.

Got our first snow here over the last couple of days. Not much but we'll take anything.

A tiny bit of rain yesterday, and the tops of the mountains got a little snow. Then it got down to 11 degrees on my back porch last nite. It's going to get that cold again tonite, but I've got plenty of fire wood ready. My wife just made a fire and it's really nice. Please, please, big mountains, make lots of snow, but keep it all up there. Just rain down here, and give everything a good drink.

No better just north of the in NM/CO border. We have overcast today, but no precipitation in the forecast through the new year. It is dangerously dry here. We haven't had any precipitation in a month now, and before that it was another two and a half months. Very small patches of snow above 9000 ft. The La Platas are bone dry.
