I'm not sure exactly when I would have time to do some sort of get together, but I wouldn't mind getting some folks together round about Flagstaff, or possibly somewhere around Show Low. It would have to be mid May or later just because of finals week, but I'd like to meet some other people in my general neck of the woods who know what a feather stick is.
What kind of work schedule are you guys working with? Finals are over after Thursday this week (5/10), but I work at a restaurant, so I generally work weekends. That doesn't mean I can't request one off if needs be.
You may want to check the fire restrictions in Coconino NF before setting a date. The extra dry spring we are having has already seen some serious fires in the forests of the state. I will try to keep watching your plans, I am basically off 24/7 but I do get scheduled for occasional trips and such. I could maybe join your outing if timing permits.
Yeah, bushcraft without fire is nowhere near as fun, and I'm assuming campfire restrictions are coming soon if they're not already in place, but we'll see how this fire season goes.
So, I had initially thought this summer would be a good time for a meet, but I've elected to make my final semester a little easier by taking many summer classes. As a result I've basically got no time. I'm still into the idea or a meet up, but I won't have free time until the end of the summer. From the comments I'm thinking flagstaff sounds like the most central location. I will keep you posted as I attempt to find time.
