I never mentioned that after the colonoscopy, they told me pizza was a no-no. They said I could have an omlette, or something similar. So I'm still craving that pizza! THIS WEEKEND!

UPDATE: mid-morning yesterday, I got a call... and am scheduled for surgery to remove the (encapsulated) large tumor in the apex of my right lung. The surgery will be laproscopic (removed through two small holes in my right side). I'll be in the hospital from two to five days, and the doc says I'm probably a "two-day'er." Recovery will be one to two weeks, and again, doc thinks it'll be closer to a week, 'cause I'm so danged stubborn and in pretty good shape, otherwise.

I can't begin to tell all of ya's how much I appreciate your support and prayers. So far, I'm amazed at what has happened since the colonoscopy/speelunker event of the century! Your prayers, the prayers of my family and work-mates... well, ya' got God's attention big time, and I'm spared of one of the three tumors. The two remaining... one will be gone on Tuesday. Yessssssssss!

The day before, I see the oncologist. I've not been told much about this visit, but it looks like I'll get some radiation therapy to the remaining tumor (on the side of my neck) before they remove that one, so there will be another surgery before too long. At least that is what it looks like.

Thanks, again, all of ya's! I HAVE to be the most blessed human being that ever lived! (This is exactly how I feel!)

    ZA/Kim

May God continue to bless you with healing and quick recovery along with your positive spirit. Prayers will continue. Do you know the time of the surgery on Tuesday so I can put it on my calendar and pray for you and the doctors just prior to the surgery?

Thanks, Gramp Camp! I check-in at 0530, and surgery is at 0730. I'll take all the prayers I can get, so THANK YOU!

I haven't felt so good in a while... all the 'bad news', and now I've had some great news! I'm JAZZED! I attribute this to prayers. So thanks again, Gramp Camp, and to everyone!

Keeping you in my prayers, keep your head up though ! I know it's not easy when your stuck waiting, but remember the best and worst days of our lives havnt happened yet. I am in the process of scheduling a colonoscopy as well, went in for a checkup and consultation on some symptoms, and due to that and family history they believe I may have colon cancer.

Hope all goes well for you, and if you need to talk, don't hesitate. Have a good day, and God bless.

I am glad to hear a positive update. Prayers and thought continue but hopefully this brings some good spirits your way.

Due to family history of colon cancer I have to go for a colonoscopy every 3 years. I feel your pain about the prep, I know it well. For anyone that has not had one yet, when they tell you to stay close to the restroom after drinking the tasty stuff you better listen. Trust me! LOL

@backwoods_emt ... What I have learned through my experience is that you just don't know until the colonoscopy is done. It's kinda' hard to put things out of your mind awaiting the procedure to be completed... no matter what anyone tells you, your mind will wander a bit, and you'll think of every possible outcome, always fearing the worst of all news.

Rely on God, and He does hear your prayers. I am proof of this! I'll be praying for you, as well. *smile*

Peace... inner peace... I have found a way to get there. I'll go out into the forest, somewhere (For about two years, I knew something wasn't right, and "self-limited" my adventures... going to easily gotten to yet very quiet places... I find a game-trail, and follow it to find solitude... not a lot of people will do this!) and find a quiet place, away from people, away from traffic-sounds... talk with God, but mostly listen. Thank God for the many blessings in your life, and just ask Him to be with you always.

I come away from these places with a lot of peace inside me. And again, I thank God for that... and for Him having given me an odd sense of humor! *smile* They say that laughter is the best medicine... that and good beer.

I wish you the best, friend.

Dang! My computer crashed just as I hit the 'reply' button! Dagnabbit!

I wish you the best, friend. It's very difficult to put it all out of your mind and just let God take over. I've had my "moments" throughout my ordeal, but for the most part, I have found peace, through prayer, mostly.

What has really and truly worked for me is to go find solitude in the forest. For about two years, I seem to have self-limited my adventures. Now, I find easily accessible places, usually by following game-trails. Most people won't follow game-trails, and go for easy to follow trails. Anyway, I do find solitude easily. I sit and talk to God, but mostly listen. I sit there, and thank God for the abundant blessings I've had in my life, mostly. Then I just listen... to the sounds of the forest... the birds, the breeze and the wind... God's lovely symphony of nature. What I do is not at all 'meditation', but actively talking to God and mostly listening. If you ask for inner peace, you will receive it. "Ask and ye shall receive."

I come away with an astounding peace inside of me, and I thank God for that, too.

I'll pray for you, and please, update either the forum, or me, directly.

This forum is where I spend most of my 'online time.' You need support? Ask for it! Need prayes? Ask for it. Lots of truly wonderful people here, and lotsa' great information on bushcraft, too! *smile*

I have a small parcel of property that I used to go sit and listen to the wind through the trees, the chatter of squirrels and the turkeys talking, through time I stopped going out there all together because I let life get in the way, but now that my sons are old enough to enjoy being outside I plan to start taking them out as much as our schedules allow, tonight we went out and bought a new tent and some sleeping bags for them, but unfortunately by the time we got back from walley world storms had moved in and I didn't get a chance to seam seal yet. So that will be tomorrow's project. I look forward to hearing from you, take care and have a happy Easter !

I have ten siblings. For us, vacations were camping and fishing. I think I loved it more than any of my brothers or sisters, 'cause I'm the only one that enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. Your kids will remember those camping trips, the day-hikes, the outings... most likely for the rest of their lives.

Have fun! Your kids will never forget these adventures!

Wow ! I couldn't imagine having ten siblings lol, I'm hoping so, our local cub scouts put us in a bind because my oldest son isn't old enough but yet "they would be willing to make an exception if I had picked up the pack leader position" but with me being gone for 24 hour shifts and sometimes 36, and never knowing when my schedule was going to be, I didn't want to promise them something I couldn't follow through. So until we find a solution for that where we can have that outlet with like minded individuals, we'll make our memories as a family and keep leaning on the BCUSA family for inspiration, tips, and stories to share.

I love backwoodsman magazine but I have no self control with it lol, when I get the newest issue I can't space it out and I'll read it cover to cover in one sitting. BCUSA is starting to become another vice (but in a good way), the information available, the stories, and the people I've met so far, leads me to believe I've came to the right place.

You still have time (today and Sunday) to bid on one of the three Challenge openings and have the opportunity to use three quality bushcraft knives and come away owning one. The three knives are packaged and ready to ship early next week to the first participant, BE ONE OF THE THREE!

Better by far is the opportunity to show your support a forum sister as all funds raised go directly to Zebra Alpha.

    Mountain time, it is!

Good morning, everyone. It's now about 0230... and haven't time to stick around... it's about an hour's drive to the hospital, and still have to gather a few things up. Was in bed at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon, after work.

As soon as I'm able and coherent, will post something here.

Thanks, all of ya's, for your prayers and support! I cannot begin to tell you what that has meant to me.

Have a great day, all. See ya's---

    Yes you do.

And God’s “power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9). He knows your ordeal. Never give up the faith! Prayer is powerful brothers and sisters.

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matt 19:26).
You're in His hands now...let go, let God, He is enough!

You're on my prayer list sister! In any ordeal we must not only pray…but we must persevere and prevail. Amen!

    Dom

That's how I sound before coffee in the morning. :)

Just glad you're ok (and that you still have your awesome humor even with the pain). Heal and get better soon!
