This seems like a possible place in the Apalachicola National Forest Area. It has river access (boat launch), hunting, primitive/dispersed camping, etc. Further investigation and scouting is recommended but if nothing else you can reach some fine backwoods places via this launch. It is three hours from Pensacola, SW of Tallahassee, and drive-able from the lake city area in under three hours. It's centralized location would make an excellent choice for an annual bushcrafters meetup location in the fall and spring. Does anyone in the area have any local knowledge or personal experiences about this location that might not be easily found on the internet about this site ? https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/apalachicola/recarea/?recid=75248

Haven't been there and it'd a bit of a drive for me (I'm east of Gainesville), but I'd be up for a meet around there.
