    A rough layout.

Rough cut out with angle grinder and thin blade with water.

Trimmed down with 1x30 sander and 40 grit belt.

Blended in grind with 1x30 and 100 grit and scotch brite belt.

Wrapped handles with jute twine and applied polyester resin.

Cleaned up the handles with a scotch brite belt.

    Applied BLO to the handles.

Pretty much finished. I still need to hand sharpen a convex grind on the blade. But good enough for now.

Nice work, would love to see your edge grinds a little better. I have a tough time getting them to look "Good".

I like 'em. :4: Quick question; this is probably obvious to every one else ( no coffee yet :44: ), but are they carbon steel or stainless?

Only way to go, it was pushing 100 that day. I just have remember not step on anything hot from the grind.

Like those two a lot- and looks like very clean work on the re-profile.

The polyester resin.... is that basically fiberglass resin with hardener? (I remember "bondo" is polyester, but can't recall seeing clear/transparent before).

I had to go look at the can. Yes it is Bondo fiberglass resin. I picked a quart of it up at Home Depot.

I figure it like this, I mostly fiddle around with old knives for fun. As long as it functions that's 90% of the game. To me form follows function.
