Has anyone ever taken the stock seat out of the 119 and replaced it with a kayak seat? Been really thinking about this, a quick internet search left me empty handed so I'm asking you all.

My thinking behind the idea is a lower center of gravity for rough water and more comfortable than the wooden bench.

I found one of the framed seats Jackson kayak has in their Coosa and put it in one of my 119s. I put some of those round foam swims g floats on the frame bottom so it would not damage the canoe.

I don’t have any pictures. I don’t even have the 119 any longer but I did keep the seat. I will try and get pictures of the seat this weekend.

Thanks! How did you like it set up that way?

I liked it a lot. Mainly because some days I would use the seat. Some days I would but a small cooler in there and take the seat out and sit on the cooler. And many days when I was mostly wading I would have no seat at all.

wvtracker14, I put a cane seat in mine and bought a lowering kit so that I was only 3 inches from the bottom of canoe and got a seat backer for it. I paddled for hours at a time and was very comfortable with it. I also put in sliding foot supports in to keep steady while paddling. I will see if I still have the pictures and post them here.

I could not find those pictures I was looking for, sorry I could not help.

I put a web seat in mine and used the existing brackets that held the plastic seat. I use a crazy creeks canoe seat with it

IMG_0885.JPG This is what I did. If you want to really do it right, buy a millennium seat. This was Randy's Canoe.

Perfect! Thanks! I'll have to google a millennium seat and see what it is.

The Millinneum Boat Seat can be ordered from Bass Pro Shop. I bought one for this canoe and it was so comfortable that I put it in my Riverhawk, I use it more than the little canoe.
Anything beats the torture device that Old Towne puts in these Canoes.
