Pedialyte 1L bottles cost about 6 bucks at any grocery store. I started using one at the beginning of the summer and it has become one of my favorites.

    Medical grade plastic.

1L capacity is what most water purification tabs are design for.

Rock solid lid and design. I stood on one just to test it. See picture. No leaks. Never worried about it coming open in the bottom of the pack.

Square design means it wont roll off a mountain (i lost a squeeze bottle that way one time many years ago as a scout)

Fits in my truck cup holder

Clear bottle doesnt stay cool as long as my klean canteen especially in the sun, but i suppose you could do the UV water purification thing if you had too. Ive never tried it just seen it done on one of the survival shows. A insulative pouch would be handy, will have to see if it fits in a maxped pouch.

Anyway, nothing fancy just a really cheap sturdy option.

Good to know there crewhead. I've been looking for replacements for a couple of the old square, lexan Nalgene bottles which are impossible to find now.
Looks like these will do the trick. The mouth does look wide enough to shove a SteriPen into.

I have used one for over six years. And although I haven’t done it there are two paracord size groves just begging for some sort of cobra weave handle.

The one quart Gatorade and Powerade bottles are similarly sturdy.

What I like about them is that they are ultimately disposable. I've worked places where I didn't want to take anything like a Nalgene because I didn't want to bring anything "home" on the outside of the bottle. I can use a Powerade Zero bottle for a while at that facility and when I'm done, just recycle.

I’ve been using one of those Smart water bottles but I like this option.

I like square bottles, more space efficient.

Good idea as long as they're safe. Disposable bottles aren't usually made for long term storage and can leech chemicals very similar to the BPA that's being removed from bottles, just with a different name.

People talk about recycling all the time but reusing is better.
