Do you have any examples of your camp cook wares, I am looking at a tripod to hold a Dutch oven for soup over a fire, or a squirrel cooker that would hold the pot on a s hook or chain? Really would like to see what examples you make. I have seen the forged utensils as well. Something like the cooking rods and the utensils would be a great way to start the camping season (trailer camping) once it gets warmer.

I have seen a fellow make a rot Iron tripod with a chain hanging from it. He then made us chicken and beef stews, they were amazing. he also had a little side pit were he kept cowls going and baked a desert.

Sorry for the super late reply! Just getting back on the forum.
I've moved over to doing only knives, hawks and the a few strikers. Thanks for asking!

hey Tarzan, sorry for the late response butt...

i know you asked specifically for a TRIPOD ...

    BUTT, hear me out

w/ a tripod(3 rods connected @ the top) one can only do one pot(coffee or stew etc) at a time

the chain & hook system allows one to regulate the cooking rate(temp)

    ¿ agreed ?

COWBOY FIRE IRONS/CAMPFIRE COOK SETS also consist of 3 rods and take up the same space/weight as a tripod BUTT

a well thought out set can be set in 2 ways

the traditional cross bar on 2 uprights

or if the smithy has a bit of immagination he/she can create a set that can be both

    th-1.jpeg

by simply making the ends kinda like so

    th.jpeg

now you can have the best of both worlds w/ the same number of pieces the same amount of carry space and the same weight

and you can choose to make one pot of coffee or...

enough for the whole fam damily ;-)

OR you could cook more than one dish at a time

hope i've stirred the pot sufficiently
