Rained all weekend, but we fished our brains out. Here's some pics from the 14' Sportspal canoe
Off Chincoteague, VA earlier this month.
Portobello Protected Area just outside Fredericton NB Canada
Here are a few recent images from my kayak:
You have a very good eye. Thanks for sharing those!
From today, at Robertson Millpond Preserve... Taken with an old Ricoh GR camera.
4 day trip with the guys in northwestern Ontario. Just south of woodland caribou provincial park. I'm in the red souris river tranquility.
Here is one of my son's first overnight canoe trip during the first weekend of July. He's 5 and he paddled for hours. I was a proud dad.
Put the new Old Town Appalachian to work on the river today. Nothing big but they were still fun. Caught about 50. Its hard to keep count when they eat like that. My thumb is shredded.
where the hell are you fishing!?! just got back from catching 10 in about two hours, feeling all proud of myself, and then this!?!
On the river here in Georgia. I am a guide so I better know where to catch them. These are shoal bass. Only catchable populations are here in Georgia.
Never miss the opportunity to paddle around in the woods behind my house when it floods

Glad you're still alive @Forestree... been wondering how you're doing.
My brother, out on an early morning trip with me.
A couple others:
Oh yeah, things are fine and the backyard canoe area is already draining out
My wife and I getting our Viking on alongside the Draken Harald Hårfagre, in Mystic, CT last week. This viking longship replica was built in Norway and sailed to the US last year. It will be moored in Mystic Seaport until October 10th.
Most of my friends have always wanted a boat that they could have dinner parties on. I've always wanted a smallish canoe that I could get into the backwater bogs with a camera with.
This last week I saw a hardly used "Northern Paddler Sportsman 12.6" for sale on Facebook Marketplace just up the street from me for only $250 (including two $80 paddles) so I took this as a sign from the Universe that I need more exercise and bought the boat of my dreams. Rained like Hel yesterday so this morning was the first time out. This is one of the (MANY) ponds within 5 miles of my house and I only took Sophia out for an hour or so, but I had a lot of fun. (and made some selfies of course!)
I'm 50 next month and haven't paddled since I was a Boy Scout at Summer Camp. I got around well enough without going in too many circles, but I'll need to practice that J Stroke more and NOW I know viscerally exactly which muscle groups that are going to need work!
Out for a paddel on a beautiful day. Moosehead Lake, Greenville Maine.
Good to see the new boat in use DaveRT!
Just went through this thread. Man I gotta get a canoe. Maybe I can trade the camper shell off my truck for an old one...
A nice paddle with the wife a few days back. Was supposed to go again today, but the forecast was an almost 11' swell with 20-30mph winds. That area is to exposed for those conditions. Now, the question is, does anyone know where that cross is located?
My wife and rented a kayak and did an overnight kayak trip when we went to Vancouver island. It was a nice trip and I wish we had done more than just one night.
Me surfing my Fenn mako elite surfski on the wake of a paddle wheel boat on the Columbia river in OR. Its pretty fun. You get to surf 1 wave for 2 hours.
This is my friend Misha paddling a Fenn spark srufski as he punches through a small wave at the mouth of Tomales bay, CA.
Did some fall camping and paddling, and saw this guy.....
Came across a pack of otter this weekend, also saw a big cow moose but my phone video just doesn't cut it. Turtles and a potential spot for wild rice. Scouted some dried up river bed and cleared a few trees for when the water is higher.
Another early morning in a classic boat.
Paddling under a bald eagle.
What with their diet, i dunno that i would paddle UNDER an eagle's nest.
I had my hat on. Thought it was good luck to be pooped on by a bird?
Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos this weekend. Windy, windy, windy!
Beautiful October day on the Ausable River in northern Michigan last weekend. The wife relaxed while I paddled. Wouldn’t change it for the world.
My puppy's first canoe paddle from this past weekend. She did great! (Old Town Discovery 13)
Saturday October 28, the g/f and I paddled up the Portobello Protected Wildlife Area to see the burn from a recent forest fire. Luckily the fire didn't do much damage to the surrounding woods but burned up Bush Meadow pretty bad. It's all grass, so it'll be nice and green next summer.
Afternoon on the water..
A bay about 1/4 mile from the Gulf of Mexico on a windless day.
It took a village to build this Tule canoe.
Reading this thread really makes me want to get out more. Here’s mine.
On the Yukon River, Five Fingers Rapids during the Yukon River Quest canoe race. Note the safety/photo boat ahead, that at only the last moment backed out of the way of our path. On approach I wondered how I was going to miss it.
Not from my canoe, but of my canoe on the YRQ at the FFR. One moment the bow paddler is awash and submerged, the next moment he is paddling air. 20 seconds of repeated excitement in all too short time in the rapids.
Kailua Bay fishing for pelagics, caught a gray snapper aka uku.
Taking 15 Junior Canadian Rangers on a canoe trip in Labrador.
Taking a friends Langford canoe for a spin.
Teaching the little guy how to pole a canoe.
Lac Labiche, Alberta .... That was a good trip!
Need I say more

Wow, great thread.
Scan of a long ago slide. Lake Powell, 1997...
End of February full moon evening, some paddle drips.
Dark shadowy places filled with brown murky water, slithering serpents, and clouds of blood thirsty mosquitos.....yep sounds like paradise to me.
