My wife had a good time getting familiar (making a fishing rod) with her pk kephart on one of our family outings. :)

Makes nice curls in dry Pine.... which is kinda tough.

    Another angle.... shavings for days!

No pictures but trust me when I say, it still pops arm hair. :dblthumb:

I have to say that this PK kephart (2nds) is quite the performer!

Came razor sharp, throws sparks off a ferro rod like crazy, and is just an all around great user.

It’s basically my “ranch knife” here on the homestead and for short family camp trips...it has performed well in all areas (shavings, batoning, house stove fire prep, backyard campfire prep, etc).

It is my go to knife...sits on my dresser...not in my knife drawer. :)

...a bit dirty but it doesnt mind at all...

Just arrived yesterday, a new little bundle of sliciness. No action shots yet, but it's going hunting with me soon.

Not the best "in use photo". If you look over to right side of of my noggin, you'll see a plainsman micro jammed into that pole.

I used it to process this six point that I was able to take with a 12 gauge.

There was another smaller spike right behind him, he's not in the picture. He didn't make it much farther. :)

This one just arrived yesterday, so slicing paper is all the action it has seen. So far I love everything about this knife.

Could be an issue if you slip while cutting towards your crotch!

Also, been doing this type of practice lately:

    IMG_4756.JPG IMG_4767.JPG
It does still struggle a bit on knots....

    IMG_4763.JPG

But after 20 minutes of tinder prep, it still shaved arm hair. Had it go through aged Pine, Oak, and Maple like a hot knife through butter.

Nothing crazy, just cleaning up some fatwood and making some curls. Tonight was the longest use of my kephart so far and it really felt great! That edge is killer too!

Today I misplaced my plainsman knife for a bit. I had some tasks that required a good knife. I passed on my bark river and my adventure sworn. Good knives, but NOT the closest to my heart. I would have sold either to replace it without hesitation.
