still praying for you!
Still here buddy and still sending up smoke.
Continued thoughts & prayers brother.
Im praying for you too brother.
May He heal your pain and grant you His peace.
Good luck brother, most doctors are clueless and arrogant.
With all the the stuff that you've been dealing with, make sure that you go over your medication list with your doctor. Also, combinations. Some meds fry the liver, some fry the kidneys. Hopefully this is not an issue, but it is a good idea to go over it with him just as a precaution.
Prayers continue on your behalf.
I'm basically not on any meds currently. I take one sometimes.
Been to the ER three times in a week. Just got back a few hours ago. I didn't think I was going to make it.
The ER doc believes its hypercalcemia from a bad parathyroid gland. I had one removed three years ago when all of this started. I need another surgery to remove a second one. My symptoms are similar to before but some are different. Sucks!
The ER doc said I may have to come to the ER a few times a week to get IVs to dilute my calcium. I'm pretty sick of all of it but if I don't go it could shut down my organs or seriously affect my breathing.
Okay man, that’s progress.
It sucks but it’s a step toward an answer and a cure.
Still sending smoke and prayers.
I’ve been thinking about you.
Stay strong, you are a fighter!
Prayers sent you way man.
Praying that this is the answer you are looking for and that it works this time.
Have the doctors check your VitaminK level. It regulates Calcium in your body.
Hang in there! You may not be able to control your body right now, but you can control your thoughts. Maybe you are getting to the bottom of all this.
Daily prayers continue on your behalf.
Hang in there!
Yup, still on it!
Continued prayers for a conclusive diagnosis and quick and complete healing. Also prayers for comfort and confidence that this will be resolved and your quality of life will be restored.
Went to my general practitioner today. I discussed everything that has happened over the last month, he knew a lot of it because every time something happens and I go to another doctor or ER he gets the reports. I just filled him in on what was said to me in those visits that wasn't in the paperwork.
I have had some really crappy doctors in the past but this guy is awesome, he stays up to date on my stuff, rereads my charts on Saturdays and has even called me on sunday, both days are on his time. He also answers my emails or calls personally in short order. He has not questioned my claims to pain or concerns and has run more labs trying to get to the bottom of this than anyone else combined.
Today I told him about my suspension of this being my parathyroid again, its the same symptoms and Ive never gotten better, and recently ive been really bad. I told him I was in contact with my original specialist surgeon and have spent all week between ER visits getting my lab records together to send them for review for confirmation diagnosis.
I expected even though this doctor was so great that he wouldn't believe me, besides all of the signs and symptoms as well as labs that show its likely. See my doctor has run the standard tests the medical schools tell them are necessary and they show negative. My surgeon has been doing this for 25 years and has proven the standard method wrong, my labs actually show high likelihood which is why I sent them my labs.
I told my doctor I don't think you will believe me, I know your training and medical standards say no, but my surgeons proven differently and although Ive been in denial myself because reoccurrence by this surgeon is 2%, I'm now 99.9% sure this is it.
He said, "Look, you know your body better than me or any doctor, and I'm listening to you, it doesn't matter what the labs say if you feel that strongly about it then I'm behind you." Guys, if you knew how many doctors I've been to....I was floored and choked up. I almost died three tears ago because doctors weren't listening to me and were taking too long. I did my own research and demanded an ER doc look at my labs again and had to point to where it was off.
My doctor said he would look into what proof my surgeon had on his website and Medical Journal Articles, and he would call them personally to ask questions. Then he asked for my surgeons personal cell number I still had from post op three years ago. I was hesitant to give it to him because I've never abused having it. I gave it to him.
My doctor wrote a note explaining how bad I was and what hes observed. Then he text and then called my surgeons personal cell number and they spoke within 30 minutes of (after) my appointment today. He said my surgeon would look at my records monday and get back with him, and understood how much trouble I've been having. I cant tell you what it means to have someone go to bat for you like that. Most doctors would have been too arrogant or dismissed me, but he didn't.
Please, if your doctor isn't doing you justice and you aren't extremely ill, do your research and keep looking until you find a good one!
I'm still pretty afraid that even if this is infact what is wrong. I may have several more ER visits before I can actually get in for surgery. My BP which usually normal, was 184/108 last week when my kidneys were having trouble. Thats serious. And I keep going up and down with serious pain and symptoms every day, like I've never felt before in my life, even three years ago. Back then my body was strong and it came on fast. Now I've never fully recovered for three years and I can tell you I just don't have the strength, my body is majorly stressed! If I have surgery I should recover and a lot or all of my symptoms should disappear immediately, within days, and up to a month or so. I know because it happened before after surgery before I started feeling bad again. I am praying I get a positive answer and get in soon and so this crap over with.
If you want to read about my condition my surgeon published information on a website to help people and doctors figure out what is going on and to educate them.
If you are a woman, if you are over 60, if you have bone pain, if you have mixed symptoms that no doctor understands, or know anyone that does, please read through this information. This isn't some crackpot doctor. You can look up refrences buy googling his name "Dr Norman did my parathyroid surgery" or "Norman Parathyroid Clinic" and see for yourself. There is a menu at the top for more information and videos, testimonials from patients and doctors (he is the surgeon doctors go to for this surgery).

I hope this is the answer to my problem.
Thanks for praying, I can use one whenever you have a minute until all of this is over.
I spent my birthday in the ER the other day getting pumped with IVs and bloodwork until 3am. Fun times. Lol
Glad your doc is diligent. I've worked with a few like that, and each one I'd work with again in a second.
May you find the answers you seek!
Prayers continue on your behalf daily.
It sounds like you found a good one.
Glad to here some positive reports brother. Hang in there and we'll keep praying.
I hope they finally 'cracked the code' this time @Wasp!
More prayers offered.
Chris, most definitely I will gladly spend a few minutes to add my efforts from a distance.
Thoughts, prayers and smoke coming your way.
