Below are three different drafts of potential new logos for 5col Survival Supply. I would love to get you guys' input on these. We would use the logo on our site, on product packaging, business cards, stickers, patches, etc. This is just the first round of designs, so it's possible that the final logo will not even resemble these at all. We will be grateful for your thoughts.

    Thanks!

I like them all but went with option 3.
Those little devils are pretty tough, except when you use a .22

Has the designer given you a visual of the tree+fire logo without the extra line between them? I think the combination tree and flame is great, just wonder if it looks less cluttered without the line.

they are all great, but option 2 A has a great runic type appearance that really appeals to me.

I like the tree/fire emblem - I hate the font in option 1.
I also agree the tree/fire emblem would probably look pretty good replacing the trash panda in option 3

I like your current one best.
    Of the three new ones,
I like #1 best because it makes me think of a tree.
#2 Makes me think of some sort of electrical schematic, I don't get it.
#3 Makes me think of the cub scouts.
But then again I'm a old fart that don't like change in general.

I like option #1, the 3 color (green, blue, red) "Tree, Water, Fire" survival symbol, replacing the image of the raccoon, in the black seal of option #3

@andy.t - so, just a few comments. Brand awareness and recognition is a large part of the success of any firm. One thing to consider when seeking to change a current logo is how much brand awareness your current customers have. The brand of a firm carries with it expectations on the part of customers, that may change when the logo changes. So, 2010 is the date you established your company. Have you used the current logo of your company since its inception? If so, this is seven years of brand awareness with your customer. One thing you might consider doing, and perhaps you already have, is to survey your current customer base regarding your current brand/logo and what it represents to them.

    Just some thoughts.

For what it's worth, I like your current logo, it speaks more to survival equipment than the new ones.
    Cheers.

Thanks for the input! When you guys talk about our current logo, do you mean this:
    5col match - promol.jpg
    or this:
    logo.png

The first image is the cover of a 7-11 matchbook from 1997. Sometimes people mistake it for our logo. I feel like it's an excellent piece of industrial art, with the light from the strike-anywhere match pushing back the darkness. I am a lightbulb changer by trade, so that resonates with me. I've also burned a vast number of things, and now own a company that sells matches (among other things). It would be a super appropriate basis for a logo, but is not ours to use in an official capacity. Pity.

The second is our $50 logo from about 2012 or 2013. We are trying to get away from the little icons because there are a number of companies in our industry that use similar imagery (our supplier Solkoa, for instance). The shape and format of that logo have caused us consistent headaches as well. My impression is that this logo has not accomplished as much for us from a brand standpoint as we would have liked, and that it's better to make the change now before we get any further down the road. We are about to invest in product packaging, stickers, logos, and fancy business cards, so I feel like now is the time to get our ducks in a row.

I visually prefer the rounded and worded design of #3. Def play with other options to swap out the raccoon face and see if other options fit better.

Option #1 would be my next choice.

Lastly would be #2. Due to the shape of the '5' ... the company name reads SCOL to me.

IMHO - Merge the two together - the visual of the matchbook combined with the text format from your current one - and bazinga! Your logo, your brand, should represent you and your passion - not your company. If you put you into your logo/brand - then you have something that will truly represent what you want.

    Cheers

    Option one.
Clean clear font. Easy to read and emphasizes the name.
Interesting graphic that is a good symbol for what you sell.
Really like option 1 B. I'd buy a hat with that of it. :dblthumb:

I just saw it, because I looked closer at the options and noticed the one with different colors (the downfall of mobile browsing, things can me missed). Anyway, that extra line is a drop of water, which plays well into the theme. I'm actually kinda torn on the logos. Except for the critter face. That's gotta go.

I like the raccoon logo and voted for it. I think there are similar logos to 1 and 2 out there already but I don't know if I've seen a raccoon logo on many things and anyone who knows raccoon knows how smart, resilient, adaptable, and fierce they are. Raccoons are the underrated ninjas of the outdoors (not just the woods; they do well anywhere).

    I voted #2.
5 COL stands out and was the first thing I noticed.
It lends itself well to being a patch or sticker also.
It is plain, simple and to the point while also being attractive. (Kind of like me!)
The sample of #2 in the upper left looks best to me.
#1 and #3 seem to take a moment to see the name of your company. Too busy and hidden IMO.
