I really need a kephart in my life lol
When I dream, a Lucas Forge is mine. . Alas, that is not in the cards now ,but if Joe and Condor get cracking I could see a Mini Kep in my future.
That Lucas Forge is a beauty.
Speaking of dreams
A month or so ago in a dream I had somehow acquired a BHK Woodsman Pro/ LT Genesis and I remember being so happy (it's my grail knife). I couldnt wait until I showed it to my dad....and then my alarm went off...and I was like "Nooooo!" Lol. True story. .though I guess it was more of a nightmare than a dream lol
I snagged this Pathfinder off the Trade Blanket. I love it, so far!
BK 62, Deer Creek, Wolf Creek and Condor I prefer the Condor.
Nice collection. That Wolf Creek with flat ground (and the first one that I have seen that wasn't saber) looks nice.
My production knives far outnumber my customs but my one and only Kephart is a custom.
AA Forge in 1/8" 80CrV2 with stabilized, dyed maple burl scales, natural micarta and white liners, and copper hardware. I love the design and love 80CrV2 but I still haven't worked this into my rotation yet; it's unused.
What I need to do is get a production Kephart and beat it up a bit. But man, I was surprised that the KA-BAR, ESEE, and Ontario versions were all around the $100 range. Bark River, twice that. More than I was expecting. The $50 Condor version may be where I end up.
FK Kephart made from and old sawmill blade, red stag and brass pins.
1/8th inch stock with a nicely ground and polished convex edge.
Haven't pulled this guy out in quite a while. I drew this up about 10 years ago and Bryan Breeden built it. Nothing fancy but man is it a joy to use. The steel is 5/32" 01 and it has a perfect convex edge on it. Bryan really knew how to grind a strong convex edge. The sheath I kept after selling another knife as it fits this guy perfectly.
I need a kephart in my life.
Francis makes some nice knives.

I think this thread is causing a run on Condor Kepharts at amazon. Between last night and today, they've almost sold out...
The closest I have is the Blind Horse bushcrafter with scandi grind.
Yes you do.
Sub $150, what's on the market?
I really want a Triple X for my next knife, they are extremely affordable to be a "lead time" knife
bk 62 kabar ,really nice knife ,if you do your homework you can get a really good deal
got mine for $80.
I paid $65 for mine.
one of the few i`ve received that did not need to be sharpened.
I agree and I will add a picture
Also condor kephart gets good reviews sometimes...I never have checked one out though.
bk62 steel with the condor scales would be Awesome
KA-BAR BK62, ESEE PR-4, Ontario SK-5, Condor Kephart.
Well that is an awesome blade!!
Kephart inspired. Kephart shaped handle + lanyard hole, about 5/64 thick 4.75 inch long blade but w a clip point 1-7/16 at widest 1-1/8 at handle. Walnut scales 3/16" peened brass rod and epoxie. 80crv2 steel.
Saber grind. I don't see a full flat grind on steel that thin. It slices good as it is.
My ML Kephart
My WCF w/o sheath was under 150. I made my own sheath and got on J Leathers wait list.
It will help you round out your collection of users.
You mean Wolf Creek Forge? Good point - I was only listing production models that I was aware of. I do have one WCF (not a Kephart) and it's a good knife.
Has Lisa cleaned up her act on communication and deliveries? Last I saw she was on the bad trades thread. But I haven't really been following the situation.
I bought mine off of the trade blanket and haven't heard any updates about that issue. It's a shame because they make good stuff.
Someone on Blade Forums recently gave WCF an attaboy for good customer service and turn around time. So hopefully they are doing better lately.
Left to Right :
Old Hickory with modified blade and new scales - work in progress
AA Forge Mini Kephart with ironwood
Condor Kephart with twine wrap to beef up the grip.
My SET again and a couple more LTs
All good, but the one on the left is a drooler... drool-worthy.
I'm confused here - the Condor Kephart in @backlasher's post looks like a flat grind while the one in @PauliWalli's post looks like a Scandi. Am I not seeing it right? Are there different versions? Anybody know?
Every time I see a BK62 all I think about is the Green River Butcher knife because of the tip. I really need to pick one up one of these days.
Some of the earlier versions of the Condor Kephart were really bad. The one I had was like inbetween a convex and scandi. Also the blade wouldn't hold an edge.
I agree. My blade holds an edge, but it is very rough as far as finish is concerned.
1084 1/8" and walnut. Mystery steel from an old machete about 9/64" and maple.
I made the walnut one first after I kept hearing about kephart knife. I found it so simple yet so usefull. Later I found the broken machete and had to try tapering the blade a little. Basically made from scrap materials. I liked the thinner blade and thought what would it be like w a clip point? See a few post back.
It's a FFG with good wood. There was a guy on the forum with a knife company who would pick out better examples for you, like with special wood. This is two Kepharts ( one a
gift from family) and a Bushlore. It doesn't show too well in the photo but the scales on the Bushlore are really special.
It must be a baryonyx special.
