Much better! Through some dense fatwood like a hot knife through butter.
Always nice when “all the fuss” lives up to it!
Hopefully the last glimpse of snow for quite a while...
This blade is amazing. Now I understand why everyone loves these knives.
Well I made my first knife handle. I bought a blank from Brian (aka @Sargent , aka *S*, aka SET) so that I could play around with making scales. I also wanted to see if i could rehandle a knife with what I might have on me in the woods (cordage and a maybe a small saw which I typically bring). I was considering using only the knife blank to carve it out but needed an excuse to use el chapo that also arrived this week. I could have just as easily battoned the scales off too I suppose.
It was super fun but I don't think Brian's job is in jeopardy anytime soon. Gonna play with the blank knife (wish i knew its name) and maybe make a sheath. Super cool design. The back of the spine has a kinda of thumb ramp and relief for my pointer finger if I was using to dress game or something.
Sheath made! It actually has amazing retention. Picked the idea up from one of iz's old videos.
Looks like you went primitive! Lol.
Breakfast with Solutrean. Gotta love a big knife for food prep. Doesnt slice bad either.
M3 compared to M3C. Both amazing knives for sure. Just trying to figure a way to keep them both...
Couple good ones from different makers. Wouldn’t change a thing of either.
From this weekend,
Just messing around by the fire,
And a Easter Sunday morning coffee near the fire.
Curls are for girls, but damn if these things don’t make em easy! Happy Easter!
Good looking pair ugashooter
Great Shot @PiterM
I dont know if Brian still makes sheaths but he was kind enought to make this one for me years ago. He did not make the knife but he custom made this one so I could use the golok in the field. It is ambidexterous - I can carry it in a variety of ways or just slip it in a pack. Perfect!
I have not forgotten- great work mister! thankyou
I'm late to the party....but glad I finally made it !! real deal tool, no hype ! my first SET but definitely not my last
nice; that black really stands out well!
Scandi Apache helping out with a recent bow drill. The Apache might have the most comfortable handle out of any knife I’ve owned. Great job Brian!
I really like mine too! Cuts like a razor to boot!
Wow, blew my mind brother. It’s been a long time. I remember that thread stretched all the way across the shop and I didn’t do another big sheath for a long time!
Insector is where I got Yo! from everyone!
Good to hear from you buddy!
And afternoon with my Sargent.
Fire skills practice with my M3,
Small fires lead to bigger fire,
If you can get a small fire going, all you need to do is add fuel!
I am curious if anyone has the weight of one of Brian's models in .07 thick steel. One of the new Compadre's potentially?
The M1 is a feather/curl making fool ! and the spine is crazy sharp too making scraping super easy. I must confess, I never did get this to light....after 3 consecutive days of thunderstorms everything was soaked and damp even in the center
dicing up this skipjack for catfish bait was no match for the M1
yes, I used the M1 to filet this little blue cat, it worked better than a filet knife
this 7 LB blue cat was no match either, I would not have guessed how well this knife would have worked for filleting these catfish..... I think there's another market @Sargent could tap in to !!!!
The 'Alaska'..... handle material is Rio Rojo. Steel is 3V.
I'll take it!
Oh wait, this isnt a sale thread?
Here is something a little different...B made the slabs from the floor of a helicopter.
So your the one who snagged it? Congrats!
Haha, yep that was me...it must have been meant to be because it went through hell crossing the country. Showed up like this but the knife was perfect!
that's classic. thought my mail man was bad. My stuff usually ends up in Guam. At least the package looks fine and retained its shape mostly.
Cool shot, nice knife too !
Liked @LostViking pics so much, I had to get one of my own. “This knife will cut.”
What?! I’m jealous. How can people not like that logo? Lol
Thanks for the pic my man.
There’s history behind that logo!
