I won’t do it again brother.
Sooooo...... the next kydex Matilija combo you have available I can just beg you for, right bro @Sargent
New-to-me M3 and a custom grande antler handle firesteel...
Got some dirt on an M1 this past weekend. May have been a wee bit small for this particular piece of pine, but we made it through eventually.
Fluffed up a bit of resin soaked goodness...
Then rained sparks on it
Went to the Linville Gorge last weekend. My M1 Primitive rode side car the whole time.
She aided in a good deal of everday tasks, including fireprep. My cohorts had never seen batoning. Bacon is ON. I've got video of getting the fire going using the M1 and a ferro rod, but thats not all that special....
Steak was on the menu as well. Turned out alright.
Overall, a great trip. This a Babel Tower (sorry for any reposted photos on the forum. I went a little tool heavy . Still need to do a full trip report. )
Very nice @Fretful7! I love that area especially this time of year, thanks for making us all jealous!
This weeks haul....
If you have not had a chance to handle a matilija I assure you, all the hype is 100% true!
This thing pocket carries like a dream and sits perfectly out of the way in the front pocket of a pair of Levi's.
No woods time yet but was able to comfortably carry all day to an assortment of venues including a gun show, a 6yo birthday party at the skating rink, as well as the sc upstate fair!
Man I love saturdays!
Hadn't taken the knife out in a while and my daughter wanted a little spoon.
Making memories with the kids...
Man I really like that spear tip buddy, how did you get that one?
Bet that one is really handy!
I'll be doing more spear points. I miss the spearpoint primitive.
Ha! It's a giant S. Nice collection too.
Snagged this from a buddy of mine...Thanks Mike!
Not much in the hotel room to use it on though...
Toughest one I've let go of yet! That was the sharpest knife I've ever owned! You could always turn the headboard into feather sticks....
Be careful and enjoy brother!
I got a little time in the parking lot of my hotel to do some split-wood fire prep.
This Helinox Chair One L puts me at the perfect height I like to be for this.
Love the handle ergos on this hunter model. I don't really do hunting, but I can see how it would excel at such tasks.
This was my attempt at thinning the herd this week, sold more than I bought though....we're gonna call this a win!
And my boy making feather sticks with the most awesome knife ever....thanks again @14ers! This knife makes em effortless but truthfully he likes the Missouri River better @Mr. Tettnanger....fine by me! Thanks again fellas, you made our weekend!
Stag firesteels.....hmmmm! Where did you track these beauties down? Just seems right ya know?
Crafted these myself- pm if interested in more details.
Oh so right.
Now that's Purdy there brother!
Please take my money!!!!

I'll start this off at $700
I hear that is the going rate now for a stag set!
I'd have givin more.....
You LOVE to overpay! LOL
It'd look even better with some sweet patina and maybe a scuff or three
Probably triple the value to
@14ers did a fantastic job of that! It was received with a fair amount of character and a spot or 2 of blood.
I took her back to new, don't have a heart attack fellas, to get the full effect! Believe me, the others have been tossed aside, and quite a few sold, in order to concentrate on this new beauty! It won't look like this for long!
I should have tried harder to show my jest
I know all of the previous owners have used, loved, and enjoyed that blade. I know you will do the same @Angelgutter, and I look forward to future posts with it.
Its the nicest stag i've seen... go be poor somewhere else!
It is some amazing stag. Feels incredible in the hand too. Brian really did a great job with the piece I sent him. A buddy and I went halfsies on a elk rack. It was huge and super nice. I still have some pieces left. I don't know if my buddy ever used his half.
So... sold for 700?
Rip's rent just got cut in half so he's got the loot!
The real issue here is the half rack the buddy has.
Truth. I should see him soon l will look into it.
I wish we did the archery shoot 2x a year... spring is too far away
That's the truth!
@55dougie I equate this imagine to a “mic drop”
New to me SET primi M1 goodness... cordage wrap on this and especially the sere is life changing... SET is in touch with out of this world talent.
Local spot for my first “vacation” day of the year.... work way too much, but family needs me so you press in, but not today, today kayak, feesh, button buck, red beans/rice and matajilia.... close enough lol!
Way to be brother! Looks like paradise! Enjoy my friend...
It was a great day, even picked the kids up from school on time-
Quick afternoon hike to the creek for coffee, M3 and BCUSA poncho...
That isn’t Lake Accotink is it?
Is that a compact?
Traded with @VAsticks, good guy. I am not sure what the OAL is for the M3C?
Blade would be 3 5/8".
I’ll confirm and report back- thanks Brian
