I just visited the Ragweed Forge website. It is under new management since Ragnars untimely passing. It has a new layout and the historical links are gone. However there is a link to The Wayback Machine that archives the reference materials he posted. It is a nice looking site. Do we know who operates it now?

Ragnar is gone? How very sad-he was a really nice guy. Smart, too.

That must have happened in the last day or two since I've been researching the site quite a bit lately. I like the new layout and wish the new owner the best. Is that my bank account I hear groaning ;)

Saddened to hear that he passed away.
I have ordered from there. Never a problem. He seemed like a standup guy.

good to know it's back up!
I've been checking it every week or so since Ragnar died.
also nice to know they kept the historical record.

    thanks!

    Good to know!

I'm liking the way that the new owner updated the site, but maintained the same basic look. That was smart. New, but familiar. A good way to retain past customers rather than completely overhauling the whole site and driving people away with the "newness".

Thanks for letting us know about this.

I enjoyed reading about Mora when ordered a couple years ago. Woulda been a shame to lose that connection to so much great information.

It seems like there was a mention in the thread about Ragnar's passing that a son handled correspondence on some pending orders.

Awesome news! Although I will miss Ragnar at the helm, I wish the new owner all the best. I'm hoping that he is just putting up on web page what he's inventoried.... I noticed that a few things I'd hoped for are "missing" from new site. Keeping my fingers crossed! :51::dblthumb:

I just checked on a whim this morning. Sure enough, it's open. Smaller selection, but hopefully it's just that way until the new owner can get more in stock.

I tried the site yesterday, and it didn't seem to be up. This morning, after this thread was started, it seemed to be working. Helle knives seem to be missing.

So glad to hear this! Thank you very much.

I hated to hear about Rangar, and was wondering what would happen to the inventory and all those informational resources. This is great news.

R.I.P. Ragnar... or wait... DON’T Rest In Peace... have fun in Valhalla, kicking ass and slamming back mead!

I too am really glad to hear this news. While I will truly miss Mr.R; as he was always a kind gentleman who was fun to do business with to me, I'm happy to hear the Ragweed Forge will live on. I wish the new owner well and hope he will carry on as our friend Ragnar would have.

I'm very sad to hear this. I've bought several Finnish blades from him to handle, and he was always free to answer questions. Encouraged me in making my own flint striker from a file.

    Yes they do.

Sad to hear about Ragnar. But it’s also nice to see his creation carried on.

Oh wow, so sorry to hear this. He always went the extra mile to please his customers. Bought quite a few from him over the years.

Ragnar also used to Smith. I bought one of the last flint strikers he forged years ago. His runic "R" mark can be seen on the main body.
