I am looking for a good straight gouge that is relatively shallow in the 1 to 1 1/4 inch width. Trying to find a more efficient method of making bowls/kuksas.
Any good ones you guys have found? I have heard good things about Ashley Isles but they seem to be primarily sold overseas. Thanks

I have a pretty nice set of Hans Karlsson. They are hand forged

Here is Drew Langsner's opinion. Drew and his Wife have retired, but you can order directly from HK.

You may want to check woodcrafts website and look at their Pfeil Swiss Made carving tools. They are great quality and used by many professional woodcarvers. Something in a 25mm, #5 or #7 sweep. The Karlsson tools are excellent just a little pricier.

I'll vote for these. Available, relatively affordable, and top quality.
