Came across this Savage Axis .308 at a price I could not turn down. Replaced the Tasco scope with a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40. Brought it home and zeroed it with three shots. My 30-06 just may go on the market. Love the way this rifle shoots!

Nice rifle I have one in 25-06. I replaced the stock with a Boyd stock and threw on a Burris fullfield.

I’ve considered swapping the stock on this one as well. Was the Boyd stock easy to replace?

Here is my 223 Heavy barrel Axis with a Boyds Tactical stock.

I have since took the barrel off a threaded it for a muzzle break. Really cool to be able to watch whatever you are shooting at get hit. The gun does not move at all.

It’s 2 bolts and you pretty much left the barrel and trigger assembly out and then put it in the other one and put the bolts back in.

Very cool. I've been thinking of finding a take-off factory barrel from a sporter to turn my savage varmint back into a handy field rifle like yours. I've had a hankering for one for a couple of years.
