Grizzix and I discussed some patches being made up for the SC group. We have considered a design with the palmetto in it, and a chicken stick too (yep, seriously!). Bigcknott submitted two sketches to me via email, both of which are pretty cool.

Wanted to post this up for everyone and brainstorm a little. As far as the BCUSA lettering, logo, or other affiliated stuff; the usage would depend on Guy and Jason's permission level granted to us. I'll ask but otherwise for now we are looking at the South Carolina Bushcraft Group as the focus.

I spoke with D37fan who recently has been producing state tabs for groups who want them. He advised me that he could do it without a problem but would need specifics on order size, artwork, etc. I told him i would provide that ASAP.

So I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas guys! I would love to represent our state and Bushcraft USA by having a state patch with our current patches for bushclass.

If you have an idea, sketch or whatever PM me and i can provide my email, so that you can send it to me there.

    Thanks guys!

No trying to hijack this but,,One of my most favorite Bands is The Marshall Tucker Band and one of their songs they sing is "Blue Ridge Mountian Sky" in the song theres a line that says " Carolina's where I'm at and that's where I'll always hang my hat under them Blue Ridge Mountain Skys".
I hope this can get something going.

Hey guys i dont want to derail the thread but i didnt want to start another one either. Just wanted everyone to know the wife and I bought our first house and have been extremely busy the past month. I havent forgotten about the patches but just havent been able to get much done.

On top of that my bushclass stuff hasnt even been in the cooker lately, everything but the house is kinda being pushed back until i can get it straightened out. However i do check my pm's once or twice a week, so make sure to send me one if you need me. Grizzix and a couple other guys also have my phone number.

Kinda feel like im missing out being so busy with the house but i gotta do it. Cant wait to plan another meet and get these patches going!

    I got bored

hope nobody minds if I jump in with an Idea, this is just a rough draft, I had a few other idea's also.

Keep in mind that the South Carolina at the bottom will curve with the patch, I just didnt have a way to do it.

    Here is my idea.

Firemedic that is awesome! Maybe a little tweaking here and there but that is nice. Bigcknott had a similar idea with a shield shaped patch.

I spoke with D37fan, the "patch guy." I submitted both knott's and firemedics designs to him. Id like to know how you guys feel about the designs and if you want a chicken stick instead lol. Chicken stick with the crescent moon maybe? :D

I told him we would prefer subdued colors, OD/tan/brown/black, and that the patches could be approximately the same size as the bushclass patches, maybe a little bigger on the shield design.

I also asked what his minimum order would be. Im hoping to hear from him soon!

This is what d37fan has sent me.

Please PM me with ideas. I really like the shield but would prefer colors like the ones below:

Multicam or forest? Let me know what you guys think!

Really digging the patch designs. I like the shield design a lot. Maybe with the forest camo pattern? Also the multicam. I would like to here what some of the other guys think. :dblthumb:

I like the design. Maybe we can incorporate an axe or knife into the back ground. Just a thought. I dont know how well that would work.

    This won't be easy

I guess I am not helping much by saying, I like both of them. Maybe we can do one patch with the multi cam, and the other with forest.

The shield I would wear on a shirt or Jacket on the shoulder area.

Ok ill narrow it down, both the patches on the right, with buscraft up top and SC on the bottom.

I do like the idea of either adding an axe or a tarp or even a campfire near the tree.

    It looks great,

Definately would want subdued coloring tho.

    Patch

I like the simplicity of the first item shown (upper left)--Round, South Carolina on top, Bushcraft on bottom, colors as is-forest green. I don't need any additions to the design. But the others are good as well so I will buy one regardless of the final decision.

Overwhelmingly the color selection has been for woodland or multicam colors. I sent a PM to d37fan today asking about the measurements of both styles of patch. It has been pretty much 50/50 on design so i might ask him to do both.

Unless the cost is crazy i may just pay for them myself and then they'll be taken care of as they are distributed. I hope everyone is happy with the color choice. Please let me know if you have any other preferences ASAP.
