Sometimes a guy just has to smile. :)

So here I sit waiting for a ride home. Truck broke down about 35 miles from home tonight. :)

I think this was one of those "should have stayed home" days. I had just a couple of hours left to finish up a job that was about 55 miles away. I was anticipating an easy day, and a short one. But, then.......

I get 5 miles from the job and have to run into home Depot for some flooring seam glue. Reach into my pocket for my truck door key ( I leave a key in the ignition and have one on my ring to open the door) and realize that my key ring is at home in my other work shirt.

So I drive back home, 50 miles, drive back to the job, and finish up. Then I hear a squeaking sound coming from the front passenger wheel.... oh no.... I made it part way and had to pull over.

So, here I sit, waiting for a ride home. :)

Not looking for sympathy. :) Life happens. I am parked at a store and have permission to leave the truck here tonight. I notified the police and they are going to do some drive by on patrol because I will have some tools here. I have on hour to kill until my ride arrives so I figured i would hang out here. It's not a big deal. I will grsg a hub in the morning and be back in business in an hour or two. :)

Who has some good Dodge jokes to tell? :18:

I used to have a 1981 Dodge Ram pickup. I named it the Exxon Valdez because it left a huge oil slick everywhere I parked it.

That's funny. I should start calling my son's truck that. He has a 95 Ford powerstroke 7.3 diesel. It's just like a Harley, leaves puddles wherever you park it. :)

Friends with blacktop driveways wouldn’t let me park on them. Would rather I parked on their lawns and kill the grass....

Years ago, we built a real nice house, with a paved circle driveway. Everyone who drove a Dodge had to park by the road coming in. :)

My best friend for 30+ years recently bought a new Ram. When I referred to it as a Dodge one day, he instantly got serious and said, "HEY! This is NOT a Dodge! If you must refer to it by it's parent company, it is a FIAT! Get it right!"

I intend to by one of these stickers for his rear window:

I helped a guy at Walmart yesterday with this problem. Poor guy had sweat pants and a T-shirt on. Just stopped for a minute. :) When I pulled in by him and saw the hood up, I knew I couldn't walk away without helping.

Here I sit alone and broken hearted...
I paid for gas, and it barely started...
Then one day I took a chance...
It tried to start, but crapped it’s pants.
The valves all chatter. Transmission slips. Every time I drive. It takes a s@@t.
The motor knocks. The tailpipe smokes. I bought a Dodge...I’m the butt of of jokes.

My first Dodge was a 1996 Cummings with about 100,000 miles on it. Had it for about 6 years nothing but oil changes, one brake that failed which led to a steering box issue because I was too proud to call a tow, and two severed brake lines (at the same time – sitting in a driveway – can you say suspicious). Decided to upgrade to a 2010 6.7 Cummings two years ago because it had 4 doors (for the kids) and an automatic transmission (for the wife). BTW the wife still won’t drive it. In two years I’ve put over $10,000 into it in repairs!!!

    I wish I had my 1996 back!

I had a 96 Cummins. Loved it. Four wheel drive would only lock in when I was moving though. Only thing I hated about it. I had the manual lock and cable set up for it, but sold the truck before I installed it. 149K when I sold it.

12 valves were epic. Not to mention pre-EPA garbage. Guy has to toon his truck before he pulls of the lot now.

I had a 96 Ranger that was actually the best vehicle I've ever owned. Oil changes, plugs, filters and easy brake jobs. All things an owner could do himself. Wish I had that one back.

Were you broken down over near me?
I should've picked on you, and then asked if you needed a hand, but I forgot that last part.
