    Thanks!

I'll quite while I am ahead before going off on a rant about the influx of transplants and implants Idaho has seen lately.

image.jpeg The white flatter-looking head above the eyes, the white breast and the general shape of the tail feathers was what I was going by but you were there in that beautiful area and I definitely defer to your observation.

    Best regards and thanks again,

The Jeep and I are a pair, both about half worn out, but still keep on going.

I could be mistaken but I'm not aware of Salmon berry in that region. In the pic those berrys look more like Rubus Parvafloris, but I'd have to see it more in detail.

BTW. That pic of that plane is priceless. Your so fortunate to get to take a cool pic like that.

They are Rubus Parvafloris in the photos. All the locals refer to them as Salmon berries. Been hearing them calling them that for 60+ years. If you mention a thimble berry, these folks won't have a clue as to what you are talking about. While technically not correct, Salmon berry is the local name for these berries.

    Thank you!

    Somehow I missed this.

What a beautiful area you have to experience!

Scenery, wildlife and bushcraft skills all very well photographed and narrated. And a plane crash! How often do you get to find one of those? Glad it appeared no one was injured. That was an awesome trip, thank you for sharing.

Back in 78 I fish a river around Kellogg, up around My Blue Heaven, with trucks and Enduros, for a week. It is still one of the best fishing trips of my life.

Fantastic trip report! Man you sure did a lot! Great photos too!!! It sure looked like you had a fantastic time out there!

I'd also say that was an osprey in that tree. I have a number of them in my area along with tons of eagles of varying age classes.

Try to find some Picaradin insect repellent. It's safe for people and doesn't not eat plastic or harm finishes. It's also the most effective non Deet repellent I have used.

Thanks for taking the time to document and share your awesome trip with us! I appreciate it!

Buck, as an old, retired aviator, what happened in those photos you took, in aviation parlance, is called "not good!" LOL! Had himself a fine ground loop! With that prop strike, he's looking at, at the very least, an engine rebuild, along with structural damage and new nosegear!

    A few comments....

    - absolutely amazing trip and well presented, thank you.
    - the area and especially the river is wow. Please message me the location for future vaca.
    - the Danish cookies are the best cookies made. Especially great with a hot coffee.
    - I’m guessing the plane experiment was not a great success and needs more engineering.
    - PBR is a good tasting beer.
    - next trip we need fish catch pics.

Again thank you for sharing your trip, really enjoyed it.

I actually had a chance to show the photos of the plane to some local back country pilots. They had heard of the incident but didn't know the pilot. They were saying that they thought the plane was helicoptered out to be rebuilt. I really got a kick out of your post, thank you!
