    ***************SPOILER ALERT*****************

Jordan Jonas, the winner of season 6 of the TV show "Alone", has accepted our invitation to interact with our bushcraft community. We are using this thread to record individual congratulations to him, as well as to ask any questions that we have had while watching season 6. Jordan's username is @Verkingetoryx .

This thread will be the equivalent of a Reddit AMA, except we will be prepositioning our congratulations and questions. And we won't be restricted to only a given time frame for posting questions and getting answers. Jordan can come here as often as he has time to read posts, and hopefully he will get to know our community better.

    So let's welcome Jordan!

@Verkingetoryx , Congratulations on the spectacular win Jordan. What we saw on TV was amazing. I wish we could see more.

What was your favorite way to prepare the moose meat?

Did you eat the moose nose? I have read that it is something special.

I hope you get the antlers back some day.

Jordan, it was such a joyful moment watching Janahlee coming up to surprise you at the finale. I am so glad you posted that clip on Instagram so that I can watch it again and again. The two of you were laughing and talking about your activities like little kids. My questions are: Does Janahlee have bushcraft/survival skills like you do? Is she a hunter or gatherer? Maybe she has complementary skills. Or is she just a lover of the wilderness like you are?

Welcome to our community! Any questions I have will trickle in, I wait till the show is on Hulu. Been looking forward to it, as it's going to be the closest climate and environment to my own so far. Can't wait to see what you did and how with what you had!

As far as a spoiler, I still haven't seen how everyone else taps out or is eliminated, and I already knew the previous winners before watching any episodes. No prob for me, at least.

Jordan, I haven't been able to find any information on a Reunion show. Do you know if one was or will be filmed? If yes, do you have an idea of when it will be broadcast? Thanks!

Jordan has agreed to do a live video chat for a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA). I will post the date, time, and platform on this thread when it becomes available. Please don't let that discourage you from posting your questions here. Any question that doesn't get answered here I will submit for the Reddit AMA. Meantime, we can get answers from Jordan here. Thanks again Jordan for joining us!!!!

I heard you lost the moose antlers...tough break and hopefully they find their way home...but what other momentos did you bring back from your trip? Favorite?

Congratulations on your win!! Thanks also for your (and everyone's) participation in this show. I know that there are a lot of criticisms of the program and the genre as a whole but I for one really enjoy this program and am grateful for every contestant that gives it a go. It is a tough thing to even consider doing let alone the whole taping and airing the thing. I look forward to reading the questions and comments and gaining a bit of insight into your experiences.

Hey man!! Thanks!! I just ate it fried and loved it every time ...never got sick of it and never missed seasoning.... I was definitely looking forward to the moose lips, they are a big delicacy and I ate them when I was in Siberia several times, but the show ended before I got to them haha! Thanks

Your real-life performance was better than a keyboard commando's "in-mind" performance: "I tell you what, if I was out there I'd kill a moose and catch some fish and probably kill a wolverine with my axe. And after I won, my woman would tackle me in my shelter. That's how I would do it!"

i would like to know about the clothing you wore.it seemed to serve you well and we only seen limited footage of you wearing your heavy coat. what kind of gear was that and the heavy coat?

of your 10 items would you change anything looking back now?

what trap set did you use to catch all the mice? i assume it was for vermin control and bait?

i knew you could do it as soon as i seen you spent 5 years with the Evenki. i said with that amount of bush time there was no way this guy is not mentally tough, physically tough and highly skilled.

your blog post titled "post finale thank you to all" was a great read, fantastic in fact. your entire family is blessed to have you.

It was kuiu gear and yeah served well....the rabbit fur vest underneath had me warm enough that sweating was more of a problem than being cold, and in fact I only put on my Soviet military sheepskin coat the last day...was saving that layer for Dec/Jan...I slept on it tho and laid on it while ice fishing....

I would think strongly about a saw ....I barely took it to begin with, but I decided to and it was nice for a few things...building the cache in particular...but not necessary...maybe an extra tarp for a makeshift boat/to wrap your meat in and make it loud when something is getting into it, or a salt lick, or a gill net... All good items...

I circled my shelter w paiute deadfalls with guys and never had a mouse problem at all...they all died before entering my shelter

Jordan has a new post on Instagram with a picture of what looks like him holding down the wolverine. In that same post, he eloquently expresses his thoughts on ingenuity and creativity as an expression of art.

Jordan, on your website you list three core values of Ingenuity, Adaptability, and Resilience. You certainly displayed those qualities on Alone. Could you just briefly explain your choices? It is OK if that is too difficult to answer in this kind of forum.

Have you ever tasted wolverine, and if so, what is it like?

Was it frustrating to have that second wolverine as a predator in your camp, knowing that you couldn't go after it? Was that because you only had one wolverine tag?

Did you see a bear while you were there? Do you know if the bears would go into hibernation sooner because of the extreme weather there?

Can you recall how long, in total, you spent building and reinforcing your shelter?

How much of a difference did it make to have the moose hide on the floor? Did it actually cut down on the cold?

Welcome Jordan and congratulations to you and your family!

This was a great season with awesome participants. Your attitude mentally during the hardship was impressive. As the season progresses it's amazing to watch how the solitude and lack of food strip away the things we get caught up in and concerned about in our daily lives. But your disposition never seemed to deteriorate.
Your knowledge and skills were likewise exemplary!

Congrats again and thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us!

What made you decide to take a frying pan instead of a pot?

Had you planned to drink directly out of the lake without boiling the water, so a frying pan would be more useful?

Pre-season, there was a post about how you are injury-prone. Was that a constant concern of yours while out there? Did it make you handle any circumstances more conservatively than you might have otherwise?

Would it be OK for someone to cross post your posts from instagram to this thread? Many of us don’t use instagram. All I can see is the pic, no text.

I found the info on the blog, thanks for that!

Here is the post on Ingenuity that Jordan referenced:

"Ingenuity is practical creativity and is one of three core traits necessary to survive. Art, being also a creative expression is closely related. Our ancestors refined their creative abilities as they devised ingenious ways to survive and thrive, and often expressed those in art.

How to build a shelter that is warm and smoke free, how to outthink and successfully harvest game, or how to confront the ravaging predator - these are just some of the conundrums that tested my/our ingenuity from time immemorial. My creative juices flow most freely when I am in a simple hunter-gathering setting, and Alone was no different. Perhaps in this most basic sense I can consider myself creative and those solutions - my expressions of art? In those moments I may be able to relate to an ancient ancestor and his art...

That said, his relief beat mine."

There are pictures to go with this on his blog.

2 qt pot or 5 qt pan meant even at half full the pan had more room plus it's more versatile...I drilled holes in it where it was balanced with wire so I could haul it and spill less than half... For getting it was great.... I also thought I might find cans (I find them even in remote places in Siberia) and I did.... Replacing any pot specific needs....

We write our own bios...I didn't write the most self aggrandizing one but I thought it was aslightly Funny way to touch on some of the weird places I've been...many of which had a very steep learning curve and inherent dangers, thus injuries...that said all those made me learn to be careful and concious of that (though by nature I'm not a super careful/fearful person)..but I learned thru experience to slow down, hold axe w 2 hands, sprinkle ash on icy shoreline before walking accross, etc...
