Woke up this morning feeling like it was spring! Only got to One below zero F. last night, and the temps are heading to the mid 20s today. So, to welcome Spring, I cleaned off the camp trailer.
You need to have a sit down with that neighbor an' tell'm to stop flockin' 'round. The yellow jasmin is already dropping.
hello, It's double figures here, highs of +11C to +13C along the Central belt of Scotland. Regards David
hello, James going on last years temperatures of between +20C & warmest day of the year 34C, +13C is kinda mid summer temperates prior to 2018. We've had a dusting of snow along the central belt, with 2 days of heavy snow in some rural areas, which cleared as soon as it fell. I'm so jealous of all that snow ^^^^ (image 1) both you & cousin @bacpacjac up in Canada are having. I haven't played in such for a long time, without having to travel up into the Highlands of Scotland. Regards David
Yup. Winter doesn't usually leave here until sometime in May. It snowed a few days before our June 1st backyard wedding and my Grandmother said "I told you so!" LOL!
When we were living in SW Idaho last summer it got to 110 F. (43 C.) We moved here where they think 85F (29 C) is near incredibly hot for a summer temp. Our heating bills may be high, but we won't have an air conditioning bill at all. By the way, I was on snowshoes so I could access the camp trailer. The town where I live is in the midst of celebrating "All Things Winter" in the winter festival. I participated by snowshoeing and shoveling, which are two significant winter activities here, as we need to access the mailbox from time to time.
That was taken just as the sun was setting. I have been shoveling roofs for two days, and this was my reward for the hard work. Sun, blue sky, and warmth on my face. We are set for an early spring here!
hello, James ^^^^ I'll have to look out some old photo's from 'the sticks' (countryside) when we did have the likes of minus -33C temperatures & the snow was over 20 feet deep drifting etc.. https://www.theweatheroutlook.com has archives images of the Scottish deep snow. brrr... Regards David
hello, yeah, that is probably the state of the road but either side it was around 24 feet deep. I climbed up the 24 feet drift by the roadside to peer over into the field & beyond. Regards David
My Dad tells a story of having to .put skis on his airplane and pull off a rescue with other pilots from a hiway near Chicago in '47 or '49. There was a white out type blizzard that dumped 5 or more feet of snow. Drivers were stranded and out of fuel so the air lift was organized with local flyers.
Turned on the water to the sprinkler system today. Pruned the roses last week and will prune the Crepe Myrtles this week. These Gulf Coast winters are brutal!
