Crappy pic of my only spyderco, an Endura (iirc) climbers knife I bought while killing time before surgery in Lyon. Never been a fan of lockbacks but liked the serrated blade.

    20180126_182637-1.jpg

Only reason I have a pic is it and a mess of other knives went up for sale on my local gun forum. I seem to have accumulated far more than I can ever use.

Thanks for posting. Do the threads for the pocket clip go into metal, or just the G10? Is there any danger of the threads stripping out at some point down the road?

To me the big difference is the lock. Both are good knives but I just like the Compression lock better.

Just in to the G-10. By the way, I got one of the deep pocket clips since it felt like it rode too high in the pocket with the original.

I have never tried a Para3 but really really want one....i do have a persistance and owned a pm2 but sold it to take my kids on vacation... The persistance and para3 aren't even a fair comparison...they may be similar in size bit that's it...the para3 has far better blade steel (s30v will hold an edge way longer). But as it was already mentioned its mostly about the lock. While there is nothing wrong with a liner-lock, nothing beats spyderco's compression lock. The way the blade just falls close when you press the lock is so smooth. It's nice to be able to open and close the knife with such ease and never even have to touch the blade. That may not seem like a big deal to you because it wasn't to me either....until I picked up the PM2 in a trade. Then I realized what the fuss was all about when people talked about a blade falling closed. My only gripe about the pm2 was size so the pm3 sounds perfect to me....its totally worth the price difference...

I know I know, this is a Spyderco thread, but that CF Leek (I think..) looks just awesome! Did it come like that or did you have the scales made for it? I have a little Kershaw OD-2 (the real reason my Jester became somewhat obsolete..) that I would love to dress like that too.

I just couldn’t get past the look of the Spyderco folders. I finally bought a Delica and completely changed my mind. I like thin blades. And the full flat grind. But what changed my mind was the useful feature of the Spyderhole hole—how it gave me control for fine work. My most carried model is the Dragonfly. Just about perfect for what I use a knife.

Biggest downfall of the small models is they are too easy to lose. So I seldom use the pocket clip of the Dragonfly any longer.

I’m to the point now that I have about as many Spydies as SAKs.

Delica G10 with metal liners. I sanded the spine of the blade to bring it to more of a point, rather than the normal blade shape that has a hump at the end.

I have an old Spyderco folder in a drawer somewhere with the plastic clip broken off.

I know this had to be a common problem. Had anyone found a good fix for it and replaced it with a metal clip?

I had it replaced years ago but now I think it costs $25. Not worth that to me.

My wife surprised me with this Dragonfly 2 over a week ago. She had seen me eyeing it at a knife store in the past and went to get it behind my back. It’s gotten a lot of pocket time already. I absolutely love this thing. It’s my favorite spyderco I’ve owned, and one of my favorite folders too.

Love those all stainless models. A stainless Harpy was my first Spyderco but it got stolen. I want another one.

The Endura shown above was my first Spyderco production knife purchase...

Then came came a few more as well as some others from various higher quality brands and before too long I had also ventured into custom knives once I started attending some of the big annual summer Blade Show(s) that are held here in Atlanta.

Now my wife tells me I have too many knives! ;)

I have to admit, I NEVER cared for Spyderco knives. Not even a tiny bit. That is until I held the Tenacious. That lead me to the Resilience. I then stumbled across the tiny Ambitious. It just came in today. I like small blades with fuller handles.

I`ve had a lot of Spydercos through the years, get tired of them and off they go! These are the only 4 I have left. Delica, Endura, Paramilitary2, and Manix2.

As odd as it may seem, the pm2 is probably my least favorite right now. Would like to try a caly and a sage sometime.

    A knife maintenance FYI :)
I pulled my Southard out of my front pocket yesterday to slice open some boxes and the two screws that hold the clip on were both loose. That would have stunk to lost one or both of those.
I'm surprised they loosened up, since the clip is always under tension clipped to my pocket, but I guess 3-4 years of nearly everyday use finally worked them loose.

We don't need anyone else walking around with a screw loose :p

Dagnabbit you guys... had to go snag a Resilience on the way to work. And boy is she a honker, 3/4" longer than my Kansbol.

Have 3 Spydies now: Tenacious, Resilience, and an Endura wave with OD handles and blacked out blade. 4 if you count my Benchmade Pika with the Spydie hole.

And I just bought 8 GAKs last week. Sheesh! A den of enablers indeed!

personally i would just grind off the rest of the clip and toss it down in your pocket. I dont really care for clips anyways. As for putting on a metal clip I doubt you could drill and tap it anywhere, if you want to get real redneck you could epoxy one on. Those old spydercos are super cool, not worth a whole lot but certainly worth trying to save.

I've carried an original Mannix since they first came out, in a leather open-topped fitted belt pouch, and a Native in the pocket as a small user for many years.
