Here is a pic of a squirrel call display that my wife helped me put together this week. I needed an extra set of hands getting the 2 boards together while drilling holes and putting screws through from the back. I used some old barn wood from a property I hunt. I hope to post pics in the upcoming weeks of a counter for the expo along with a display for predator calls and ferro rods as well. The squirrel call display holds 35 calls.

Where is the expo? I live in Springfield and wouldn't mind a little drive. I try not to go into the flatlands though! Oh, very nice display!

It will be at the fair grounds in Fort Smith. https://www.fcaoutdoorexpo.com/

They have some amazing hunt packages and prize packages that will be raffled. Giving away about a dozen guns, several bows and crossbows, belly boat packages, camping packages, 6 kayak packages... Jase Roberts from Duck Dynasty will be the key note speaker for the dinner afterwards. I chose my booth space across the aisle from Mountain Man off of Duck Dynasty.

I think I'm about 2 1/2 hours south of you. Springfield for me means City Butcher and BBQ and "burnt ends". Mercy! That is good stuff!

I'll try to get some pics this weekend. I asked the land owner where I hunt about trading her some work for some more of the barn wood and tin from the old cabin that is falling in on her property. She didn't hesitate. She said her chicken roost fell down in her barn and she had thought about cutting out some small persimmon trees (think just thicker than shovel handle) from the front of the property to build a new one. She only has hand saws and welcomed a chainsaw and an extra set of hands. I'm almost giddy about salvaging more of the wood and tin... I guess it doesn't take much to excite some folks...

I got my ferro rod display built today. It was cut from a short piece of hand hewn log from an old cabin on a property where I hunt. The land owner said the cabin was originally a blacksmith shop on the Butterfield stage route. I haven't been able to verify that, but it the cabin was definitely old. The tin in the pics above was roofing from the old cabin. The display holds 62 ferro rods. The paracord is hanging on square nails pulled from some of the wood from the old cabin.

Looks great! Nice work. Well rounded craftsman. I love my turkey call from you, if only I could do it justice and make it sound like a turkey :D

I got my booth set up this AM for the show. I will get pics tomorrow once I get all of my calls and stuff out. Everything that I make will fit in a pocket. I was not about to put all of the calls and stuff out to sit until tomorrow. Had several compliments from other folks there early. My wife commented "that could have been my kitchen cabinets". Do you think she was hinting?

Well, here is the whole setup...
    41830012_1970883829598487_1864192978159927296_n.jpg

I certainly didn't get rich, but had an enjoyable day with friends and met some new folks and saw some folks that I hadn't seen in a while. Numerous people commented that while there were a lot of people coming and going, they weren't loosening their wallets much. Guess who has calls and stuff to start listing on ebay, in the classifieds and on his website? This guy! ;)

Yeah, going from the load pictured in the back of my truck to the finished display, I was pleased. I just couldn't make myself sit behind a folding table for another show. All but the cubes at the ends of the display break down and are now stored in the attic of my shop. I had to build it in a way that I could move the pieces by myself up the 8' fold down attic ladder in my shop.
