Are there ample trees for hanging a hammock or is it better suited to bring a tent? Thanks @Tennessee

@bam7765 We just need 2 trees man. I call top, and I'm thinking 16 bean soup with garlic cabbage for dinner.

@abwillingham and I have cleared about an acre of underbrush in the front corner of the property. We counted just a couple days ago and came up with about 12 or 13 spots for hammocks in that area. Just a few feet away at the back of the house there are about four more spots.
At the back of the property there are another four acres with a whole lot of trees, although this is a bit separate from the main camp area, about 200 yards.
I have five tents here and a couple of sleeping pads if any accommodations are needed.

I will have the video running as you climb up there.

    You two are a hoot.

    Thanks Paul.
I do only have one folding grill for the fire pit. A 16X36. Another one of these would be helpful.
I am going to make a hanging pot system for the tripod but we'll probably have a couple of other fire pits going.

Ok, I can make that happen. I'd like to hook you up. How about 24x36? I started cutting some steel this morning. Don't plan on backpacking with it. I don't do lightweight.

We'll have to season it there because I don't have a big enough fire pit in my little yard here.

That would be fantastic. We both know how quickly they can fill up with pots and pans. I have some old motor oil and diesel fuel we can season it with.:)

Super bummed right now as I have to back out of what is looking to be an awesome meet. I was super excited to come hang with everyone and have a great weekend, but alas life happened. My wife & I are expecting a baby girl in February so that's the positive end of why I'm not attending. Hopefully after she arrives, and things settle down a bit, I'll be able to make it out to the next, or the after next meet! Have fun and I look forward to living it up through pics!

I hate to say this, but I will unfortunately not be able to attend this one. I have a work conference and a long list of deadlines that I'm worried about meeting. It's just a crazy season.

I think the three of us should stand on it and take a photo.

    Really looking forward everybody.
May get a sprinkle or two, but we will have cover.
The wood is covered and dry and there is plenty of it.
I have several poplar logs cut and ready for bark peeling and basket making.
I would also like to get some atlatl darts made up, if anyone is interested.
    Plenty to do and see.
Also thinking about a group hike to a spot on the creek for lunch and bushcraft. Trail head 100 yards from the house. Spot about a half a mile down the trail.
Please let me know if any of you need better directions. Detaled directions are posted about halfwzy down page 3.
Send me a pm for my phone number if you need to give me a call or get lost on the way in.

I have a big arse banana tree (doesn't produce fruit. basically a 15' tall weed that will not die) in the back yard. You want me to bring up a couple stalks to make cord with?

Thanks for letting us know and we'll see you soon at another meetup. Hope nothing is amiss.

I am always up for new types of cordage Paul. that would be great.

I have about 10 or 15 dried rivercane stalks, a full turkey wing full of feathers and a bunch of artificial sinew. All we need to do is fire straightening, making points, fletch and carve out a couple of atlatl's

Brian, I am bringing a large red EMT-type First-Aid box. can I bring anything else for the crew - do we need any extra chairs, or tarps, lanterns, anything? who's got the Conecuh sausage?..

btw, when are all y'all headed over there? I've got some stuff to finish around here today but I was planning on heading over Friday morning. too soon?..

First aid kit is a great idea. We have several chairs, but I would bring yours along anyway. We have a tarp setup thing around the huge tripod, but wouldn't hurt to have another in another area. lanterns would be good also. I don't own one, but I belive @abwillingham does.

I have taken the next two days off, so you are welcome to come now if you like. I am just finishing up a few things and making some bushcraft stuff.

Whoooohoooooo. Thank you Bonekrakker. Looking forward to it.

Sorry folks, looks like I'm gonna have to back out for the full meet.
The hospital cancelled my previously approved time off request. I may be able to run down for a few hours, but won't be able to over night. I will do my best to make an appearance.
    Sorry

Aww man, I just learned of this. Doubtful I’d have been able to come. But I’m sadder for not knowing sooner lol.
Hope you all are having a fine time! Woke up to the first snow of the year here in northern Indiana. A few days in the woods would of done wonders.
You guys take lots of pictures.
