    Howdy bush braws and sisters!
This thread will be an ongoing one. Recently I purchased an ESEE Izula in the bright "fire ant red". 1529424939480-1082178102.jpg I ordered the scales with it just to give it a little better feel in hand. I got the Izula kit, so it's got all the little dodads that are included. All Im using at the moment is the belt clip attached to the sheath.
This knife is by far the most expensive blade I have ever purchased. With that said, the only other ESEE knife I have ever had my hands on was the BCUSA Junglas for the pass around. I plan on including all y'all fine bush folk in my adventures with this now named "Fire Ant". I'll keep y'all posted as I break this little dude in!!

Might be fun to have a 'Find the Fire Ant' series of photos. Seems hard to lose but I bet you could camouflage that sucker and make it hard for us folks here to see! :D

This should be another fun thread to track! :dblthumb:

It's hard to get a good picture that does it any justice! It's bright! And being a fellow Jawjahanian.. yes I have been ate up by fire ants too many times to count. I hope this dude is a little nicer to me than it's 6 legged mini devil from whom it get it's name!!

Very nice! I've got a couple Izula and a couple Izula II knives, very good little blades. Down the road you might want to check into the G10 scales from TheKnifeConnection. They make a great knife even better.

Im looking forward to your future posts. I enjoy your knife posts because there is lots of action which is how it should be. I have an izula and it is a good little knife. I have added scales to it as well and it is an improvement when battoning or doing a lot of carving. I think I ordered scales right after carving this feather stick.

I love my Izula. Very handy sized blade.
I agree that the scales make it much easier on the hand.
I really wanted to make a comment on the color choice. Something to the effect of... “ You get that in pink to match your purse?”
    I know, I know it’s RED.
That’s a new color on me. Never seen one in red. Definitely hard to lose.

I've got one in fire ant red myself. That color is impossible to photograph. Not pink, not orange, not cherry or firetruck or blood. Just bright frackin' RED.

The Knife Connection (TKC) .just recently released a new set of handle scales for the Izula that extend out further than the tang giving it the handle length of an
Izula II. Then you can choose between a little more length when its convenient or a little more concealable when its needed

Becker scales fit too. They are cheap, but the fit up isn't perfect on mine.

Right on brother ! Your going to love that fire ant !
It's a perfect little knife IMHO.
As @Midwest.Bushlore stated above the TKC G-10 handles are GREAT !

Here is my izula, as it came new. image.jpg Here it is now.
    I striped the coating.
I filed the spine to 90% to throw sparks
    Forced vinegar patina.
I LOVE THIS KNIFE ! image.jpg There is a esee knife addicts sub-forum here at BCUSA.
Looking forward to reading your ongoing adventures of the
    FIRE ANT.
    Enjoy brother.

Got a pic that sorta comes close to showing the true color of fire ant red.
(Yes, I know I've posted it before, but it belongs in this thread) :)

I would quess I've cut up more stuff for eating or cooking with an Izula, than any other knife I own. Judging by the numbers of them being cranked out at Rowan Inc they are still selling like hot cakes. :)

Hey bush braws! Well I finally got some time to do some fun stuff! IMG_20180701_171631.jpg I got to take my brand spanking new Fire ant out for a little dirt time.. we cut some stuff and did the normal knife break in. IMG_20180701_171944.jpg it done well! I have been wanting to put this dude to work for quite sometime now. There is no way in hell I would spend this much money on a knife and not use the frig out of it!! IMG_20180701_164058.jpg we stalked some prey.. I guess if I was starving and really didn't mind the whole leper thing I could have killed at least one of these guys. There was 5 young ones just goofing off around the outskirts of the den. I left them be for now.. IMG_20180701_173817.jpg We batoned a little wood for my 50 species fire I'm working on. This little dude does well, I enjoyed using it today.. there will be more to come!

I really can't pick just one knife over another for the "basic" functions. If it cuts and withstands me smacking the crap out it and it successfully busts what I try to. It's a good knife in my book. I got an unbelievable amount of work out of a $4 knife and it's still alive. But this one looks cooler than the $4 and feels a little better too!!

IMG_20180703_185256.jpg Fire ant is at it again!! Processed me some wood for my chili. IMG_20180703_183357.jpg Carved a cherry "chili paddle" too. Anyone use a leather sheath for their Izula ? I'm thinking about switching from the factory one to a leather one.. maybe.. anywho!! Fire ant out!

    Nice work so far.

That is how I feel. A knife is just a sharp piece of metal with a handle attached to it.

Mine has been a regular edc for some years now. Occasionally I'll experiment with a prettier blade, but I always end up casting it off and returning to my Izula.

Thanks for sharing the Fire Ant knife.....my Izula in the only "ant" to bite me that has required stitches along with permanent nerve damage....

My Izula (OD Color) lives in a Heavy Cover kit that I set up.....fits perfect......did have an orange Izula but I sold that a few weeks back....wasn't using it...

Izula is a solid small knife.....thinking about the extended handles....

I always have my Izula 2 on me. Also have the regular 5 on me when I’m home. It’s an excellent knife.

What, no love for venom green? :D I’ve made a Bic sheath that attaches to it (fits other sheaths too), works quite well. I can use the lighter without taking it out of the sheath, really handy so I don’t have to go digging in my pocket for it.

Today I thought I herd something coming from my HPG kit. It was definitely fireant making fun of his new sidekick catfish.. something about him not cutting stuff or something, I'm not totally sure I don't speak ESEE. But that's what I thought was going on anyway! IMG_20180812_131423.jpg took it outside and smacked it around a little.. little guy does well!

The fire ant was probably telling catfish that you don't love him. If you did love him he would have scratches. I'm only guessing I don't speak esee either.
