I like spicy stuff, but I don't understand why there is a need to cause physical pain and even injury when eating. Well, there's Thanksgiving Dinner. I've seen people eat the Ghost and I'm thinking 'No WAY!' I go to the local BBQ place and put spicy sauce on and a thin bit of "Volcano", but if you put all Volcano on it you can't even taste the meat or bread after the first bite.
    I don't get it. Shrug :/

Why would you do that to yourself?:34::6: I like a little zing, but with flavor. I appreciate my taste buds way too much to do this to myself. :32:

A little kick is one thing, but that can’t be enjoyable in the least.

I worked with some guys years ago that would get wings from a local joint every payday. They’d get the “suicidal” which were as hot as can be offered. I’m watching these guys wiping themselves off just dripping sweat, snot running from their nose and thinking how in the hell they can even say they’re enjoying it. Some people are real masochists.

I make my own hot sauce from peppers I grow in my garden. It's hot enough to warrant keeping the toilet paper in the freezer but it still has a nice flavor (to me).

I think some of these sauces are just capsaicin extracts.

I did the "Toe of Satan Challenge" before. Lollipop made with 9 million Scoville units extract that you have to keep in your mouth for 5 minutes without spitting etc. At the end I was crying, sweating, my ear drums hurt, ... pretty intense.

I tap out at about 5000 Scoville, I think Tabasco is about 2000. But the only pleasure people get from that stuff is watching other people eat it.
If I had a bottle of that I would probably put it in a spray bottle with some vinegar and make some home made bear spray.
In my opinion it's like keeping a loaded gun in the cupboard...more of a weapon than a food.

15 years ago, I truly enjoyed 5 star Thai hot food, although I had to beg for it at some places until they knew me. I thought it was complex and flavorful and about as hot as I could understand eating. My wife said she couldn't taste anything except heat... So I'll believe there's significant variations in palates and I'm not averse to spicy, but the new hot sauces are way too hot for me. Even the habanero sauce at the local Mexican restaurant has little flavor, just heat.

I've gone a bit retro, eg Frank's red hot, Texas Pete, tobasco, Tennessee sunshine, and the like. I also make my own from sweet and hot red peppers, but I like heat just to be an important flavor component, not the only one!

K.C. Masterpiece makes a "Firey Habenero Honey" BBQ sauce that is just perfect for me. Not too hot, not too tame. It's flavorful with a nice kick.

If I want to commit suicide, there's a lot less painful methods than eating 'Pepper X' hot sauce. One thing's for sure, that bottle will last a long time consuming one drop at a time! If you want something that would do less damage to your body, you could drink battery acid!

That's because they stopped developing them for flavor in those sauces... they are bland now just hot as hell. I can eat some really really spicy food and be ok but what is the point when there is little to no flavor. Some people just like the heat, I know a guy who eats the newer hot sauces because he likes the burn but he even agrees they dont have the flavor of the sauces in the 90's where yeah it was hot but not so hot you could get away with something that didnt taste good.

This hot sauce is used on a YouTube Channel (First We Feast) and they interview celebs while eating hot wings that get progressively hotter with this sauce being used on the last one.

Pico Pica Mexican hot sauce has great flavor, hot enough to check your watch to be sure you're near a bathroom in four hours, that being the portal to portal transit time, till you've developed internal calluses.

My body’s indicator of “friggin’ hot” is if I get hiccups. Ghost peppers and such are about the limit for me. Beyond that heat, to me, is not enjoyable.
