I have to admit I'm drooling over your finds. In the bottom left of the pic. Is that a large U gouge of some kind?
    Cheers Jim

Thanks Jim, it took a lot of fun haggling, almost my favorite part.
Yes it is a gouge, maybe near full "U", I will look again later, take a couple closer pics of I can.

I know very little about knives and makers, however I have had a few Ontario Knife pieces before, an old hickory just like yours too.
All seem to be good steel.
This is what I have kept from Ontario Knife...

As a carver that could be a very useful tool. Not having a large gouge has limited me more than once. Clean that up if you can. You can make Bowls and kuksa all day long that one. Very nice score!:35:

1$ for this sweet swiss army knife and 6$ for this nice waist pack, which i think will solve one of my hiking problems which is i carry my cam in an over the shoulder sling bag so i need a way to carry water and a small kit that does not go over a shoulder.

That day style pack , I have a few similar all removable from the top bonnet portion of my larger backpacks. As I wore it a lot, yours also may have straps that extend enough so if desired or necessitated you could carry it messenger bag style and sling it over a shoulder comfortably...I would snug it up under and over the shoulder for moving quick and thru the thick if bushwacking.

I do know that it is modular in the fact that the pocket part can be removed. As so....

If I was limited to local fleamarkets and garage sales I'd be safe. Having access to Ebay on my phone is dangerous.

I hope you really keep that because you have a much older version of the same machete offered today and yours is better.

    It's a keeper 110%

I may clean and put a stone to it in the future but that is it. I like to maintain its condition, I am just amazed to have found it as intact and complete with scabbard and belt, all in great condition considering.

    Thanks @Medicine maker

Picked these up over the weekend. No markings on either of the roofers hatchets. The axe head is marked Trojan. I also picked up a few handles. Main one I was looking for was a good double bit for an axe I found at a yard sale a while back.

These are some I got from my grandad while clearing out his shop. I just added the handle to the ball peen. The hammer was loose and cracked so I tightened it up and then wrapped the handle. The old shingle hatchet needs a new handle and I started a thread about how to tackle the broad axe.

Stopped at a long-picked-over garage sale and found a "different" Imacasa machete. Not too bad for $1... 20190330_165831.jpg 20190330_165840.jpg 20190330_165854.jpg 20190330_165906.jpg

Not used or even truly vintage, but I recently found an old-school hardware store that still carried USA made Nicholson files. Wrapped in old wax paper was their legendary "axe file" which I purchased for $8.
Sadly I only had a $10 on me, and haven't been able to get back there to buy more.

I was out near a favorite junk shop yesterday and stopped in, no axes but I did score this mallet stamped 2.
...and when I arrived home my mother in law was visiting, she had the Craftsman for me, given to her free at a local flea market.

It's a shame the handle on the Craftsman is cracked. The mallet is begging to whack

Not a lot of treasure this weekend(just getting back on my foots) but I did make it to the flea market and found a robert Klaas coal miner knife (pictured)and a Sabre China lock back just like the other one I have but with bone scales instead of plastic. And a small 2 blade imperial pocket knife. Both of these have carbon blades. Can't take pics of the last 2 yet they are soaking over night in oil. IMG_20190406_130348.jpg

I was armchair hunting Sunday, and the treasure arrived safely yesterday afternoon.

A nice old lady I know gave me an abused Boy's axe a couple of days ago. The only markings are DY and 2 1/2. I bought a 28" Link Boy's axe handle at the hardware store for $16. Everything looks as if it will go together nicely.

I made an offer and BAM!
    Delivered yesterday afternoon.
Perfectly timed delivery, as my wife had just stepped out.
