About an hour ago on my way home from grabbing one boy from his soccer, we stopped at the church bazaar.

I dont have any real time to do anything, I just keep escaping to the garage when no one is paying attention.

    Great score @Chris4x4Gill2
Is that a boys head size?
    How is the handle?

Any ridges in the eye by chance?

    @Miller White
Handle is decent. It should work fine after some oil. I do believe its a Boys Axe. I did not measure the eye and don't know if it has ridges. I need to take a closer look. I'll measure it and the length tonight when I get home.

I've got three other heads sitting on my workbench I just got handles in for. I posted them earlier in this thread - one of those is a very nice boys axe head. I have a 28" handle for it, but I'm going to play around with it some and see if I can cut it down a few inches.

I really like that pitted trojan you have on the bench @Chris4x4Gill2 ...great character.

Depending on how much tongue the 28" haft is, you may be able to lose 2 or more inches just by hanging it close to the shoulder.

Good luck...i have so many back logged now, my bench is under there somewhere lol!

    So it is not a boy's axe. I guess it's around a 4lb head.

Here it is compared to a 3lb head.
    20190425_181921.jpg

And here it is compared to a 2 1/4 lb boys axe.
    20190425_181910.jpg

After digging a bunch of dirt out of the eye, I can't see any ridges. It's been mushroomed on the edges of the eye and on the back of the head.
    20190425_181939.jpg

The edge is in pretty good shape. Small chips to file out

That is going to make a very handsome axe after a little brush and file. That's a great find @Chris4x4Gill2

Found this in the woods over the weekend. Full of dirt and grime. Cleaned up perfectly. I think it's from 76.

I went to the first flea market of the season last weekend. I got these plus a handful of fishing lures. Not too shabby for less than $20.

That's what I am pondering now since lineage discovery...put it to one of my snaths now, keep 2 rigs for grass and this brush? Or set up and hang/add to my Maine (fictional)wall?

Leaning toward set up for primarily hang on the fictional Maine Wall...seeing as I have little thick brush here I need the scythe for.

Disston (probably), D7 maybe, skew back rip saw is missing 2 of 3 bolts, one of which is the medallion.
There may be an etch to reveal...or traces of....to help ID. Probable to be etch free and a hardware line...we shall find out in a day or 3;)

Found this little Sierra saw at the flea mkt for a buck. Lock must have been jammed but I took it apart and put a few drops of oil in it and it works great! Don't know who makes it. IMG_20190713_141210.jpg
Also found this leather hole punch made by Sargent & Co. For 3 bucks. A couple drops of oil did wonders for this one too. IMG_20190713_141056.jpg

Can anyone tell me about this? The most similar results I’m finding online are WWII era military machetes. I’d love to know more about it before I go restoring it

I am finally getting around to sifting thru and cleaning as I go, some of the more intriguing pieces from a recent haul...

There was a beautifully older, overlay hidden connie, not legible stamping sadly but still awesome.
A fireman head, 4lbs even...but they removed the pick, in a dreadful, violent looking process...a character of an axe.
A nice 6lb axe eye maul.
Stanely and Dunlap 10" brace drills.
Liking the 16lb Atha Spalling Hammer!
    No.700 Stanley Corner Vise
Even a nice vintage, 1930's era Triner Brass Postal Scale

Very interesting. The Trojan’s are a relatively common brand here in Australia, and are sold by Bunnings Warehouse. Nowadays their quality isn’t all that great, but they used to be fantastic. In fact, they are the company that bought out Hytest. They also (as far as I know) May have made the World’s Finest Kelly axes.
