    Hello fellow Bushcrafters!
I have been testing out some super cheap fixed blades of late.. here is the latest..
IMG_20180428_213339.jpg this blade is a hoss! Looks similar to the ESEE blades. 5/32" thick and 11.625" OAL the blade is 6.5" and had a serated edge that's a little over a inch in length. Comes with 1/4" thick G10 scales in orange. The entire blade is covered with a rough textured coating of some kind.. but it is tough stuff... and clings to materials processed by the blade... IMG_20180428_181109.jpg I took this dude to the bush and made about every kind of shavings I could make, and learned that the serated edge makes some pritty awesome shavings... IMG_20180428_180416.jpg after the normal came the fun stuff....I took the cherry to this dude, and beat the snot out of it. IMG_20180428_173134.jpg not one issue. Tho I did get nervous at one point having to use a wooden wedge to get the blade out, but I just have it hell again and it was the winner..
This knife came with a sheath that isn't the worst I have got. It is nylon with a plastic insert and a small storage pouch on the front.. IMG_20180428_220732.jpg well to sum it up ... It's pritty tough.. can bust legit logs. Batons like a champ, puts out about which ever shavings one would like. Worth $15 ? Absolutely.. strikes a fire steel, processed wood like a boss.. well worth $15

Obviously a fake... a real USMC knife wouldn't have a serrated blade! :18: Well, it does look functional though. :dblthumb:

It's a shame it has the serrations, @Bushcraft-kelso. Not a bad thing if you like serrations, and I suppose at the price I shouldn't gripe!

Im thinking ill just reprofile the blade there like a tracker.. or just leave them they made pritty fast work of maple saplings, just slapping at it with the knife. When I really tried to chop it worked well.

I love to see these kinds of tests. Just proves that you don't have to spend a fortune to go play in the woods. Nice job!

That was my first thought if you wanted to get rid of the serrations. I find sometimes they come in handy for cutting heavy rope or rubber hoses.

Thanks, I looked at Elite's site but didn't see the blade.
I'm not a fan of serrations so I was thinking you could reprofile to a tracker style.

Thanks for the review. Looks like a good blade.
I did some research on the modern Air Force survival knife. I was never interested in serationson my knives. The reason behind them is if you can't sharpen the non serrated blade, the serationson will still cut even if they are dull.

Not to be a wet blanket, but whoever is manufacturing those pretty much ripped off ESEE’s design, and I highly doubt they’re licensing the use of the EGA on their knives.
Due to those two factors, I wouldn’t want to support them, just my $0.02, glad you like it though.

I actually prefer the CIMA-1.. which is another clone of an esee.. I put these reviews for people who need an affordable knife to get them started and these are just that. I don't meen to step on the toes of the big companies.. just giving people information. Like most $10 knives it's a copy of something else.. my $9.50 tracker looks like a Tops.. but says made in China.. none of these knockoff blades say any name other than the one they go by.. so they are copies in one way or another but not a counterfeit.. so they are not really hurting the big guys.. but again not everyone feels the same.. just trying to provide reviews of low priced kit options without prejudice..

Good evening @Bushcraft-kelso I did a little reading as somthing was familiar with that knife. Elite tactical is a sub brand of master cutlery. They have lots if different product lines. Everything I've seen from them is a flavor of 440. 440c in this case. Cheaper knives just say 440, I assume not C. I've owned a bunch of their stuff. In the mtech line up. Currently a $10 cord wrap bowie. I abuse it often and it takes it. My buddy has the black mtech in the pic. $24 Canadian. Green handle elite tactical is $40 Canadian best price. The saw back on the mtech is pointless. But otherwise a good knife. Check out mastercutlery.com. ;)
    Cheers Jim
