We just got a batch of Victorinox One Hand Trekker Knives in. These are true German Army Surplus, and were definitely issued. I'm impressed with their condition, for knives that were carried in the field. German soldiers must take good care of their kit. Both plain and serrated edge knives are available.

Our price is $30 with Free Shipping to any US address. International shipping is cheap. You can find them here on our site: https://5col.com/products/victorinox-one-hand-trekker-knife-german-army-surplus

The One Hand Trekker features the following tools:
    • Large One-Hand-Open Locking Blade
    • Phillips Screwdriver
    • Bottle Opener
    • Large Locking Screwdriver
    • Can Opener
    • Small Screwdriver
    • Wire Stripper
    • Reamer
    • Wood Saw
They also have a small split ring for attaching lanyards or key rings. The handle scales are Olive Drab and are stamped with the Bundeswehr eagle insignia.

Wow, really good price! I bought a couple from another source and paid about $10 more. Great knives, everything you need for outdoors work and nothing you don't. The two I bought are for my kids' first knives.

These are rock solid knives! I got one in a trade a few years ago. Not in the best of shape, but seems to be heavier and stronger than my sak civilian trekker.

Bump for a left handed friendly delight. I just picked one up NIB camo version a couple weeks ago and love it. Operates easily with left hand as the lock release is opposite of most lock blades I've had in my hands. I love the Bundeswehr eagle insignia on these.

Fyi, I got the serrated blade and simply ground them to a plain edge. Since they are also chisel ground, I beveled the other side as well. They turned out great and I can get them shaving sharp.

For real, I'm not trying to threadjack, just trying to show what's possible with these awesome knives. Very much worth it at these prices. You can see, I replaced the German eagle with the monograms of my kids (Maggie & Victor.)

    Bought a handful for family.

Strop them and they shine like brand new. Scary sharp takes all of 2 minutes.
German & Swiss surplus -- the two very best in one hand.

Kenneth-- Actual length of the cutting edge on the blade is 3-1/8". Overall length from handle is almost 3-1/2".

    Saw length is 3-1/2".

I've been doing a lot of speculating about the plain edge knives. Ordinarily the One-Hand Trekker has a partially serrated blade. However, slightly more than half the German Army Surplus blades we get have a plain edge. I have been wondering if Victorinox did a special run of plain edge blades for the German military, or if the plain edge blades started life as partially serrated, then were ground down.

Check these three knives out. The partially serrated blade at top is the normal factory blade. Notice the choil. The blade below it is a random sample of a plain edge blade. See the difference? The choil has been basically eliminated, and there's substantially less material in the blade. The knife at the bottom still has most of the choil, but if you overlay that knife on the serrated blade at the top, you will see that the cutting edge swoops away to the point, eliminating the area where the serrations used to be. There are other differences in the plain edges. Some have edges that are almost straight, for instance. I feel like this is proof that they didn't roll of the assembly line this way, but maybe some of you guys are better informed than I am.

Also notice the two different styles of thumb-hole.

That is odd. If they (individual soldiers?) modded them, they did a good job.

    Exellent knives by the way.

I got 2 today with plain edge blades. Very nice. The main blades appeared to be factory new replacements and were Victorinox sharp and not regrinds. Everything was in working order. One will be an EDC with no worries, 2nd knife will be a spare. Thanks to Andy for the deal and the service!

Good news, everyone! We have five Plain Edge SAKs in stock right now.

Also, I just put the serrated edge SAKs on sale for $25.99.

I am not planning to get any more of these surplus knives, so... ACT NOW, SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED.

Mine looks like the one in the center. The front 1/2 of the edge was very dull with some minor scratches in the blade finish. Almost as if it was originally serrated and modded to a plain edge. The thumbhole is elongated, but the finish is as smooth as butter. I don't see how this could be done outside of a factory. But I can't say for sure.
I am very happy with what I got regardless.

Got mine yesterday. Unlike the other reports here, this one has seen some hard use, handle scale is loose. Blade has a bend in it. Liners are bent up. I guess this is understandable for surplus and the supply was apparently down to the last few. It is certainly usable, but I just checked and see the civilian version is on amazon for $39 for a new one. If I had seen it prior, I prolly would have just dropped the extra $10 for a new one.

I think the smooth edge ones started out as serrated and have just been reprofiled If you have the capability, you might be better off starting with serrated and doing the regrind yourself.

You are not the only one. Mine came with a broken awl tip. No big deal in the big picture, but it bummed me out. It was sold as used, so I'm cool with it.

Mine came with a bent tip on the knife blade. It straightened out fairly well and it is certainly usable. I'm sure it would be time prohibitive to go through every one. As the knife was used surplus, I figured it was just luck of the draw. Everything else I've received from Andy was good.

I'd be happy to refund or replace any of the defective knives from you guys, @Yohawk , @Mr. Tettnanger , @Red Yeti . PM me if you'd like to do that. The knives are supposed to be used, but in good condition. They should still be useful tools. If problems with the knife impact it's usefulness, then I'd say we owe you.

    Hey Andy,
I'm good.....I took a small brass hammer to it on an anvil and you can hardly tell. Hit it with a strop and it's in my emergency kit. Thanks very much for the offer.

Thanks for the offer @andy.t . I think I'll just leave it lay and see if I can fix it. It is usable, so I think it is fair. Live and learn.
