Anyone within driving distance of Washington Texas (near Navasota), tomorrow is History Saturday. Staff rangers and volunteers in period dress will be on site to demonstrate early 19th century daily life. I will be at Independence Hall portraying a Texian Army volunteer. I will be demonstrating firemaking with flint and steel and with a fire cylinder. The use of sulfur matches will also be presented. If you are in the neighborhood, come by and say hello. There is no admission fee for the park.

Well, dang, it was so flippin hot and muggy all day, the crowds stayed home in Droves. Pretty quiet. Hopefully, it will be cooler next month.
