I've been brainstorming this for a while and perhaps my search-fu is limited on this subject as I've not found many results.

I have what everyone else has, the Thermarest Z-seat pad and also have the same problem with it that everyone else has, it won't lay flat lol.

Otherwise, certainly effective for what it is.

But .... it has no soul.

I then thought about waxed canvas with a couple of layers of wool blanket, stitched together in a rectangle (size is TBD) with cordage loops in the corners as tie-down options.

Then I got to thinking about NYLON duck canvas, yep, it's a thing. It has a great 'hand' to it as well.

A seat pad that can be thrown down, won't immediately fly away lol, can be rolled up ...

Anyone know a source for these sort of things?

Pretty good idea. I made one from some wool blanket squares and canvas from an old Army duffel bag.
