1. Due to the amount of SPAM from foreign countries lately, we have made the decision to manually approve all new members. While we regret that this must be done and the added time that it will take for new members to be approved, it is necessary at this time. We hope to have legitimate new members approved in a timely manner, no longer than a couple of hours. If the Administrators are online at the time, it can be as soon as a couple of minutes. Thank you for your patience.

Hey Gang Guy and I got together and thought that a Homesteading sub forum would be nice to have on here. There have been many threads both recent and past that would fit better in here rather then Preparedness. right now its a sub forum of the preparedness area, but if it becomes popular and drives traffic to it we will make it its own area.

    Thanx

    Mac

    Fantastic idea....Thanks
Lot of folks want to have their own place, and many folks that actually have done it, learned a lot of little details, paid the money for their mistakes and are willing to help those that are interested.

I just noticed this sub-forum a couple days ago. I've been homesteading on four acres (hence my username) for many years. I'm sure I can help with advice and knowledge and looking foward to learning from others!

    Great idea!

I have changed the Homesteading sub-forum, to its own full forum. I think we will get better participation from folks if it is more visible.

    Thanks.

Thank You....when I went to the "Prepardness" forum and "Homesteading" was gone, I was at the least disappointed because I regularly read in that sub forum....having Homesteading as it's own forum is a great idea....should create more interest and involvment....

Great topic. My wife and I purchased a 6.5 acre farmstead 1-year ago and I've been doing a lot with chickens and bees right now so this is a perfect opportunity to share successes and learn more.

    Thanks Mods.

Bees would be the one thing I couldn't do as the wife is allergic.

    I'm on Four Acres too.
I have a lot going on on my land and am blessed with a great creek meandering through a 2 acre wooded section. Small crawfish and wildlife visible and great eco system in place for small game. I'm a hunter and trapper and teach both of these sports for my home State.

I'm living a lifestyle that is the most suited for my family. Providing everything from a home garden of vegetables and herbs to wildlife. My neighbors provide fresh eggs & chickens as well as cows and another closer neighbor raises more chickens, ducks & turkey.

As we continue to grow; we continue to prosper! 4 acres feels like 50!
Additionally, Mike wife and I also own out right now, 35 more Acres in beautiful Wyoming!
About 3 -4 hours away from Teton National.
I love it there but every time I get out there, I never want to leave; it's where I belong living!

    Anyway, enjoy your 4 Acres!!
