hmmm, salmon could be good
I'm probably having chili. Unless I have some for lunch.
Salmon looked like trash.
This is the worst looking Salmon ever.
Didn't have enough wild rice to make a pot full, so I added a tablespoon of each of these. Just right.
Got everything working, wine reducing for dill lemon buerre blanc bottom burner left..
Cod pan preheating..
Water simmering for broccolini..
Wild Rice and friends pilaf style top right..
This may or not be the worst Salmon, but it's pretty good Cod;
Seared boneless pork chop, rice, peppers, taters and onions.
NICE, flatbreads to boot eh?
Always! Love those things.
I'm going to hunt me down some of that broccolini.
That looks wonderful. And I love a lemon sauce. Especially over fish. Or veal.
Everyone went with rice tonight. But me.
I'm making a fritatta. And since I didn't have anything leftover to add, I'm starting from scratch. I've got everything basically sweating in a CI skillet watching an old movie on TCM. Time to shred some cheddar.
Fresh out of the oven to cool.
I'm on my way.
I'll heat up a slice
No photos to speak of, but since it was in the mid 70's here in Maryland the kids and I wandered out into the woods behind my place, played in the fort and made steaks and veggies over a fire. Does this count as a bushcraft picnic?
I was craving something with gravy, so...
I made smothered hamburger steak. Sauteed mushrooms and onions, made brown gravy, added white sharp cheddar cheese.
-Roasted and barely crushed some Baby Dutch Yellow potatoes and butter.
-Side of Green Beans
I bet I could make some version of this at camp in a dutch oven.
Thanks. It was.
Porky porky pork chops,
chicken fajitas....way to many may i add..
Vegtables... VEGTABLES? We don need no stinkin' VEGTABLES!
Tonight I attended the local Boy Scouts bean dinner. It's a fund raiser for the club.
I only mention it, in case some here may want to look for one in your town, and support the club.
Beans were good!
Chicken fried steak tonight. Along with some frozen veggies and mashed redskins.
I've never seen cube steaks so big before. Only one would fit in the skillet. Which means I have two in reserve
No pics, but fresh Gulf grouper and shrimp with sweet corn, baked beans, and a glass of Pinot Noir.
Cube steak stroganoff
Last night was bucatini a la amatriciana round two;
Got the itch to do some cooking tonight.
Crawfish etoufee and garlic bread. Beignets for dessert.
Not tonight, but 2 nights ago:
Venison backstrap fried over wood fire in a carbon steel pan with bacon
and a baked potato from the campfire, later on.
Went with "steak" wings last night.
Orecchiette, chicken breast, San Marzano tomato, crispy bacon and a blend of freshly micro'd parmesan reggiano and pecorino romano.
I'm on my way to a casino buffet right now. I'll post photos.
Very nice looking.
I've got chicken on the menu tonight, too. White and dark, because I'm fickle. Plus I needed another thigh or two for some Paella I've been hankering to make.
I dare you to eat 50 eggs.
The other breast was yesterday, the tenders and trim is tomorrow, with the thighs following Friday.
Isn't there something like a gallon or two of milk at once, too?
I love hard boiled eggs so much, and cold milk for that matter, I could see me pressing my luck on a dare.
But I saw The Replacements
How do you spread it out like that?
You're almost making me feel guilty for eating a whole eight piece fried chicken from the store for lunch the other day
I'm making a prediction. I'm thinking...12 lobster tails. 2...no...4 pieces of habachi grilled salmon, and 2 hibachi steaks.
I think a few bbq ribs and some crab legs will be nice. I'll be sensible with dessert and maybe just a have a slice of key lime pie, cheesecake, and chocolate cake.
As for drinks, I am going to a private club later where I will drink for free. The bartender and I are creative with the drinks he makes. I recently found out that he can't read the lables without reading glasses so the drinks are always a little different but they can be modified to my taste.
It's all about what goes with it, fill the plate, something from each group and make it nice!
Oh man I just sounded like one of my first chefs....
Anything free is worth saving up for!
Then someone accuses me of having three starches on my plate
So anyway, tonight was creamy Cajun chicken.
OMG...18 lobster tails. 2 steaks, 2 salmon, 2 desserts, 4 craberry juices, 2 cappacinnos. Some other stuff too.
Pork Steak, roasted potatoes, broccoli rice and cheese.
Wife made a quick stir fry and I threw in some kimchee for extra zip.
One skillet pork chop kind of meal.
I used the other chop up tonight by grilling it. Did the green beans differently. And also my first attempt at cream of mushroom soup.
Just s quick and dirty;
Crisped wheat tortilla, smoked Sockeye, broken yolk egg and horseradish mustard.
turkey nachos tonight
This has got to be the cruelest thread I've ever seen.
I think I'm having a can of chicken and a cup of ramen.
Good thing my camera lens is smashed...
I would thaw some venison steaks but it is colder inside than the freezer is.
A pizza that I made. I ate the whole thing. In the saucepan is some rice crispies that I fry in butter with cinnamon and sugar then eat with heavy cream. That's how I enjoy my breakfast cereal.
I'm all about eating healthy, moderate proportions. For my vegetable dish I had some Bloody Mary's.
We need to talk bud.
Tonight probably not much. Big lunch cheap pizza.
Chicken breast rolled around Black Forest ham and Muenster cheese, draped with more Muenster and then baked. Steamed broccoli and red potatoes with Kerry Gold butter.
Nice. a little cordon bleu esque action.
