Grandma was here today, watching Natalie while I got stuff done.
Chicken Fried Steak, Fries, Squash. All healthy stuff ya know, well for a southerner anyway.
Cabbage and kielbasa soup with fresh beer bread, made it all my self yes I dis.
Kim-chi, soybean sprouts, black rice, green beans with some pork, avacado wrapped in dried seaweed, chive-egg-tofu flat potstickers and dandelions from the yard which were absolutely delicious!
Carne Asada, not for tonight but tomorrow night when my bro is here. It is his recipe from PR, and I will post after action pics if I am not TOO hungry!
Made scratch fajitas. Chicken.
I made mashed potatoes last night.
And served them up with a leftover porch chop, gravy and peas & corn from a couple nights ago.
That was Easter Sunday at my sister’s. First time for that photo, although we do mud bugs 4-5 times a year. I ate way too many but they were great! We have to cook multiple batches to suit everyone’s taste. I like mine spicy, gotta have a little lip burn, lol...
Dang. That picture looked so familiar...
I guess if you've seen one mudbug eating gathering, you've seen them all
I haven't made these in a while.
Brats with onions, peppers and potatoes. The spread is mayo, mustard and roasted garlic. I can still smell the garlic roasting through the house
A Good Old P&J on home bread . Washed it down with Cranberry Juice.
A pan fried burger with three pieces of thick cut bacon and two pieces of sharp cheddar, half an avocado, spring green "lettuce", red onion, mayo and ketchup on a jumbo bun. And chips.
Chili dogs. Yum...
it's an anti-keto thing, here!
Pollo alla toscana the other night;
Rosemary, lemon, crushed red pepper.
Served with spicy lemon barley risotto and sautéed spinach and kale
So, garlic aoli then?
I guess. No olive oil, but the smashed garlic is in there.
Blackened turkey sandwhich on whole wheat, cheddar, spring lettuce mix, avocado, red onion, and mayo. Potato salad and avocado pn the side with sweet tea.
Smoked a chicken tonight.
Buffalo Ribeye, homemade mashed potatoes, and fresh green beans with fried bacon Murica
Tonight Tuna salad wrap , with tomato , bake potato wedges.
mmm, bison ribeye... I haven't had that in a few years. That looks done perfectly.
I made a, we don't need no stinking lettuce salad
Then put together a sandwich
Which I toasted
The wife and I made some dumplings for dinner, pork and chives.
Made Merican chilaquiles tonight
Those tomatoes look delicious. I'll take a sammich add mayo, and minus the ham and cheese
I'm not much on deserts like icecream, but I cant seem to keep this bowl full long.
Torture I tell ya...
I'm having a can of chicken and ramen. Again.
Trying to figure out the blog so as to explain why.
Food is sacred. Even when it says moo
Added 4 fried eggs and 4 baked taters.. real butter too.
I love moo!
Oh yeah, 'mater sandwiches. On nice soft white bread
Pulled this out of the freezer
Sautéed some green beans in coconut oil (virgin) and Greek seasoning
Tonight I made myself a chicken burger with pepper jack cheese, fried hash brown patty, an over easy egg, hot sauce, guacamole, and spinach.
Now that's a burger.
Pork Milanese, green beans sautéed with brown butter, toasted melange of peppercorns and white wine, redskin taters with sour cream and Kerry gold butter;
Great minds again bud, greenies and spuds!
And you just can't go wrong with green beans
Man just looking at these post, my stomach is growing! Tonight a bowl of high protein special K , skim milk, a banana. Tea. We got some great cooks here! I think of folks who don’t have food to eat. Patsy and I donated to our local food bank twice a month. So go out and do the same Gang . Keep this post going and I’ll come to your house for dinner some time lol .
No dinner last night. Just some cheese.
So that meant I was a little hungry when I woke up this morning.
I took some of the leftover veggies from the other night's brats, added some ham and turned it into an omelet.
Last night was meatballs, farro cooked pilaf method, roasted veg (baby sweet peppers, zucchini, brocollini and purple carrots)
Had the fixin's for a salad and thawed chicken I didn't feel like breading, so grilled chicken salad.
Sear pork chops, roasted veg and baby potatoes;
I made a big pot of goulash.
And tonight I had some of that goulash alongside a grilled steak and grilled romaine lettuce.
Battered pork chop, broccoli with a little cheddar, mash potatoes with left over mushroom and onion gravy. Southern standard issue sweet tea.
What did you put on the romaine?
Everything looks good
It wasn't supper but I made some cornbread in my newest Lodge CI skillet tonite! I was snowed in for the whole day yesterday so I figured since I had some time I'd make cornbread, but as I gathered the ingredients I discovered to my horror that I was out of cornmeal! Since I was still jonesing for it I stopped by the store on the way home to pick up cornmeal, so at that itch is scratched now!
I brush some olive oil infused with fresh garlic, red pepper flakes and salt & pepper on the layers. Grill it and top with fresh parm (or similar).
That looks great. And darn close to what I was leaning towards tonight, minus the wrap.
I was going to have bacon and broccoli with some Jasmine rice. Just something I can put in a bowl and shovel it in
