    Actually found a piece of hickory, didn't need it to be but it does feel traditional.
    Tell me what you think so far.

    Looks good to me. I like them a bit thinner. Try to make sure your palm swell fills your hand in width and front to back. A slight taper side to side going thicker from about 2.5" ending at the knob. Like 3/4" wide ending just over an inch at the knob.

    Looks like it should do fine! I'd like it thinner, with a fuller swell also. Not that it looks bad like it is though, good job.

    Thanks guys, I started really taking grip on it and hitting a pad and found it too think cause fatigue in my fingers so your advice is dead on and I already did some thinning at the bottom where my hand will be most of the time.
    I plan to do more thinning higher up as well.

    20180311_202647.jpg thinned it out a lot, fit to head and stained, just gotta refinish the head, mount it up and give it a good coat of BLO
