A hike with the dog someplace by Lake Superior. Probably check out the Wooden boat and canoe show. Work some more on the chimney I'm building for the wood stove I'm installing in the shop. I would like to finish that by fall.

Today is my oldest daughter's birthday 39! Cooking some bacon wrapped filet mignons on the grill in a few minutes. Maybe mowing part of the yard tomorrow (barring perpetual thunderstorms this time of the year), just mowed it Wednesday.... Church on Sunday, laziness the rest of the weekend.

    image.jpeg I'm down to this.

Maybe visit a state park and maybe find some place to put some ammo thru my old work gun (S&W 629)? Who knows, I might run over and see @Midwest.Bushlore in Bozeman.

Need to do it soon as it's already turning into fall.

Wife takes the girls to dance Saturday after a big bacon egg and hash brown breakfast. I get the knot head. We’ll go to the home improvement store for 3 2x4’s to fix the fence where an oak limb blew through a section. I think I have enough picket scrap from the last fence to replace the pickets. Maybe after we’ll wash the truck and shoot bows in the back yard. Then avoid the dang heat. Sunday yard work, maybe time to take the chainsaw to the azaleas out front that hide half the house. Probably won’t manage to avoid the heat...

Harsh! I believe it was 3 years ago when the State of MD cancelled parallel parking as a testing requirement. Hints and rumors MD wants to bring it back now. My kids are past that now. Not a lot of that type parking around here, but I love showing off my skills to them when I can, lol.

Cut a ton of trees down around here today. Hoping to get new cab corners welded into my Super Duty this weekend so I can get it inspected and use it to drag an excavator home for some more yard work next week. A lot of my land is so steep that to have flat ground I have to dig from one side and dump on the other.

Other than that, church on Sunday and spending the rest of that day with the kiddos since the wife has to work. I usually have 3 days off each week now, trying hard to slow down on Sundays and spend time with the kids even if I do have a million things to do before winter.

Taking a little one to an old equipment show / tractor pull. Not mine but a wonderful kid whose "dad" has zero interest in him. His loss. If that doesn't pan out or if it does and we get back early I need to do brakes, rotors, and calipers on the Jeep so my "assistant" can help with that instead or after.

Shopping with Mom this morning, this afternoon host my youngest daughter’s birthday party, I’ll cook 24 burgers and 24 hotdogs on the grill.
Tomorrow morning over at my oldest nephews house to work on a water heater.
After that, rest up for the coming week.

My wife is an RN at a hospital working 3 12-hour (which end up being at 13 hours) shifts per week. Gets every other weekend off.

    She has a great schedule:
    Monday, Tuesday.
    Saturday, Sunday.
    Thursday, Friday.
    Monday, Tuesday.
    Saturday, Sunday.
    Thursday, Friday.
    Monday, Tuesday.
    Saturday, Sunday.
    Thursday, Friday.
    Monday, Tuesday.
    Saturday, Sunday.
    Thursday, Friday.
    Etc.

So she never works on Wednesday. She's off both days before and after a working weekend, and works both days before and after an off weekend. A great schedule and easy to use for planning.

Sorry guys, I can't like the "work" posts....

Finishing up my daughter's bedroom is on deck. We've taken part of the shared bedroom and a large walk in closet and made an 8x10 bedroom for her, so it's drywall sanding, painting, and floor prep for new flooring next weekend. If I have time, my chicken run needs a bit of re-work from the 18" diameter limb that fell and took out the corner. It may sound like another "work" post, but it's all for me, not a job.

with wind chill factors in the tripple digits(it did get down to 84º last night) there wont be much of anything going on here that isn't either in the house or in the air conditioned Jeep

the challenge will be to get from the house to the Jeep and not sweat my drawers ;-)

Man I am a fair weather camper. No interest in sweating in a tent. I’m ok with rain/storms, but if it’s not 60 or below at night, I don’t want any part of it.

Probably sleep in a hammock by a lake if I can find one.
I just hope a fire ban doesn't go into effect. It's just not camping without a fire.

We spent friday night making stuffed hot peppers and pizzas and playing games with friends.

I opted out of shooting an XTC High Power match yesterday because of heat and 100% humidity, so I left to go to an art show with my wife instead. Unfortunately, the organizers changed the traffic routing this year and it was so bad that we turned around after we spent 1 hour to creep just a quarter mile. The saving grace is that my wife suggested we swing by the gun store on the way home, where I picked up another 5,000 primers. :) We went out to eat in the evening and sat outside overlooking the river.

Today we took a family bike trip along the river, and stopped for ice cream afterwards. I plan to do some reloading this evening. :42:

Tagging along with my dad. He’s car shopping today. He brought me to drive the “new ride” if he buys one. Then his 45th high school reunion...somehow I wound up here with him. It’s at 2:00. I jokingly said they scheduled it so early because most of them are asleep by 7:30.
