I am from central Arkansas just north of Conway.
Fort Smith, on the border
Top NW corner here...Raised in Bentonville (home of Wally World)
Im from Fayetteville, live just outside it right now.
Lowell for me.
Conway is not that far from Heber Springs right?
about 35 mins when the traffic is light (not a summer holiday weekend)
I turn north at conway to go to Greers Ferry for the inlaws all the time.
GF is on the other side of the lake from Heber.
I have inlaws in Heber and have been there a few times. Man GF is a fun place during the summer.
I'm actually in Greenbrier-8 miles north of Conway. Heber Springs is about 30 miles from Greenbrier. I Flyfish in the Little Red River in Heber Springs. And yes Greers Ferry lake is great in the summer. I RV "camp" and boat there regularly.
I'm in the Dardanelle/Russellville area. Soon to be moving out into the woods in Wildcat Hollow (about 7 miles west of Dardanelle on Hwy 22). We're going to be building an off-the-grid home.
i live in bentonville
lol...that's funny because it's true...I just thought that out in my mind...
yep..it really half way between 'em.
Hey guys I lived in AR for 39 years (Cabot, Monticello, Hazen, etc.). I have lived in Louisiana for 13 years but plan to move back after I retire. Can I still be in your club or has my 13 year hiatus disqualified me?
haha im surprised you have stayed in LA this long. As long as the group says its ok its fine with me. Just dont tell anyone,
ya gotta come back with coolers full of gulf shrimp, swamprat...that's all I'm sayin'
man, I remember going down to the LA shrimp boats growing up in the 70's - we'd make the trip with two dads in the front of the pickup and a few of us rug-rats in the back under the campershell. We'd drive all night and get there in the morning...the shrimp boats would fill up our coolers for $5 each - throw some ice on top...and drive back all day.
Shrimp parties for the next week at everyone's yard that sent a cooler
- rotating it so you cooked once, but feasted for a week. Good times.
N.W. corner of Benton County.
Royal on the South side of Lake Ouachita. And my cousin down in Lake Charles said the shrimp ain't right this year. Hardly anyone has any.
Hey all, just discovered this sub-forum.
I'm west of Conway.
I live in Conway. Grew up in Clinton.
Absolutely love the Ozarks!!
Hey, I just found this subforum. I am in the Joneboro area now. Lived most of my life in Pocahontas.
from a lil town called Rudy here, doubt many folks would know where that is. but im north of the fort and south of fayetteville.
I knw where it's at and IIRC passed through it a few times on my way to Lee and Buckhorn Creeks. Or that part of the National Forest in general.
Been through both Hogeye and Bugscuffle too.
I'm in Fayetteville. Been here for about 23 years. Previously grew up in Batesville, on the other side of the Ozarks. LOVE this State!
Hey there Zaveral, I'm in Maynard. Not too far from a couple o you guys.
With so many members in and around the NW AR. area, I'm suprised that there doesn't seem to be much interest in a local get together. I, for one, would appreciate the opportunity to participate with and learn from others. Maybe that will be my next b-day wish.
I may be open to it this year. No way I could have the past few years...but some stuff changed - 2012 may open up some.
Name here is Jon , I'm from the Paris area . About 14 road miles from Mt Magazine (highest point in AR) . Wondering if there are any bushcrafters relatively close by that can get together and practice with .
Less than ten miles to OK or MO.
Looks like you are right in the middle of most of us on here. Should not be much of a problem.
Just waiting to hear of any one that pitches out an area to meet up . I live south of I40 but most of my canoeing has been north of I40 . Areas around the Mulberry River look like they would be a great place to have a gather. Some of the area around the Big piney would be great also . My son and I have been talking about going out camping and I have thought about getting the gps coordinates and taking off and letting him see if he can find the place . Especially since he hates to ride in my samurai.
jonesboro here,if ther is a gathering in the northwest let all know i have a brother in springdale..could drive up for the weekend..saw acouploe from jboro.maby we could do a small gathering around here...see ya'll later bryan.
Morrilton, born and raised. Half way between Russellville and Conway. Always ready to learn new stuff.
If anything ever pans out with a meet up I would possibly be interested if at all possible.
a camp meet would be fun, been reading mst of the day because of the rain. Hate to say but last camp out was in december, its time to get out to the woods.
I'm in the NW part about 15 miles East of Rogers. I've been here about 7 years now moved up here from Gulf Shores AL.
I'm in Cabot
looking like Iam a bit isolated in the southwest corner of the state. Iam from Magnolia.
I grew up in Conway. I'm in the Navy living in Va. for now. Can't wait to move back to the natural state.
Mountain view here
Mt View is a great area. I had some beans there last weekend.
Just moved from Eastern Oklahoma to Van Buren, working in Fort Smith.
